Booked some days in addition to an Iceland round-trip in June/July 2014. Agency suggested 'deluxe' room, because of additional roominess and comfort. All in all our experience was not too good. On the positive side: Hotel is situated relatively convenient regarding waterfront and city. Not really close, but the center is easy to reach by bus (bus stop in front...

Let me start by saying that hotels in Reykjavik tend to be less spacious and have fewer amenities than their counterparts in mainland Europe or in the US. Look upon the Hotel Cabin on a par with Travelodge or Motel 6 and your expectations will be managed. Yes, Hotel Cabin is a good 20 minute walk from the city centre,...

I stayed here with 4 friends over New Year in two twin rooms. We chose Hotel Cabin as it seemed to tick all our boxes and was within our budget. We went with an open mind and not expecting too much! On arrival the check in was quick and we were given our keys to our rooms on the 2nd...

Knowing that Iceland was expensive, we pm looked at several hotels to try and get the best value for money, on looking at this hotel the photos appeared to make it look palatable. There were 7 of us in total, meaning that we were allocated two twin rooms and triple, although it slept 4 persons. The two twin rooms were...

Our stay at Hotel Cabin was just average. It wasn't special in any way, shape or form but certainly not worse than we expected initially. The hotel is located outside the city centre of Reykjavik. We knew this prior to our stay but upon the first day of arriving, we felt that it was actually quite a walk to the...

Iceland is a beautiful place with so many amazing sights to see. I would defo recommend the hotel cabin it is about 30 mins walk into the city centre about 2000 krona (£10) for a taxi home at night, nightlife is still very up and coming, music is dated although you can still have a fab night out! Would recommend...

It's not 5* so don't expect it however has great advantages: 20 min walk to centre - don't bother with the bus! It's often first drop off at the end of a tour Shop & booze shop a few doors down Great staff, very good and accommodating Got a lovely view - room enough for both of us but think...

Iceland can be an expensive place. Staying at a hotel can easily burn a hole in your wallet. If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel to stay, Hotel Cabin is an option. My wife and I stayed there for three nights. The hotel is 30 minutes from the city center, if you are walking. What I enjoy about this...

Very comfortable budget hotel with helpful, friendly staff, who helped to book all of our trips. The small room wasn't a problem for us as we were out all day so didn't need it for anything other than sleeping after all the sightseeing! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms warm as the heating is left on all night.The...

Iceland was really pretty, the cabin hotel is basic but nice and clean and in a good location as long as your Ok walking. We did the northern lights trip and whale watching, I'd recommend them both although don't hold out for the magic lights as even when they're out they are only colourful through a fancy lense not the...
