We went 2 times to this hostel. First time, we got a room in another building with a blue roof at the end of the street. Room was clean and quiet, matresses were really confy. We had a kitchen to cook in the basement... I had only good things to say and wanted to give it five stars... The location...

If you're looking for a simple and relatively inexpensive accommodation option in central Reykjavik, this may be your answer. The owners have a few properties around the area so do note that the actual building you stay in may involve a bit of a walk from the reception. We were placed on the top floor of a squat, three-storey building...

If you're a budget traveler, then this is the hostel for you. Of course it has it downsides like anywhere else, and it is quite basic, but if you just need a base for exploring Iceland, Hotel Village ticks all the boxes. My review is long overdue but the good impression they made hasn't waned at all! We weren't planning...

We my wife and I stayed at the Hostel for the first two weeks of March this year. We arrived at 2am and our key as with others was at the main reception area with directions to the block we had been allocated. The following day we were able to change this room for one within the Hostel reception's block....

This was the least expensive private room in a hostel I could find, and it was great value for your money considering how pricey Reykjavik is. The room was bright, pretty and clean, so was the bathroom and the little kitchen. The little gardens were also lovely. Staff were friendly. Arrived early and they stored my luggage while I explored...

If you want a cheap accomodation, go for it. But don't expect something nice. I booked it because it seemed nice on the pictures. When we artived they said we stayed in the Second House. And of course it wasn't nice at all. It was noisy, cold, beds needed new matresses, the sheets were too small for the blankets and...

So this was a first for us having always stayed in hotels but Iceland was so expensive, so we thought we'd try a hostel. Mixed reviews on Tripadvisor so I was slightly dubious. Hostels have entered a new era - good, clean accommodation with personality and charm. Cheap no longer means basic. This hostel is a throwback to the model. Rooms were extremely basic, old uncomfortable mattress and lumpy pillows, bathrooms passable. Kitchen area was OK but not suited for the volume of people going through. One large group made breakfast and the...
