Overall not a good stay. We arrived from USA after a red eye at 9am - owner said room wasn't ready and to come back later. We came back at 3pm - he was out and said he'd be back soon. We waited in the street over an hour, called again - he said he was sorry, picking up daughter...

We landed quite late and by the time we reached the guesthouse it was almost 2am. We were on the third floor which made carrying suitcases up two flights of stairs a bit tricky. We tried to be very quiet! The room was adequate and the bathroom very small. I was a bit worried because the friends I was traveling...

Very good location, only a couple of minutes walk from the downtown centre; pubs, restaurants, shopping, harbour front. Very friendly and easy going owner, whom we saw when we went down for the breakfast every morning. Small but clean basic rooms, and the shared bathroom/shower room was clean. No negatives! !

Room comfortable. No TV but v good WiFi, free. Only negative was shared bathroom. Proved not to be a problem. Great shower. Breakfast fine for me. Sky, bread, jam, ham, cheese, hardboiled eggs, coffee tea. It is very close to centre of town. 5min walk. Loads of restaurants nearby.

It was a pleasant surprise to find this guesthouse last minute, with excellent location and only about 5 minutes walking from city center. I was walking towards another guesthouse when I noticed the sign for this one. So, I entered and the owner was there. I spoke with him, and he had availability and showed me the rooms. My room...

Great location, 5 minutes walking from city center, nice rooms with tween or double beds towels and soap in the room and Washbasin and a small Chest of drawers. There is a shared bathroom, but clean and new. There are also a lot of towels in the bathroom for the gusts to change. and there is a liquid soap. .The...

We had room number 10, next to the kitchen were the breakfast is....so early wake up by the other guests. The room is ok, with ok beds and bathroom. Really missed good curtains to make the room dark. The breakfast is really the simplest we had during our trip in Iceland, only toast, cheese and ham and cornflakes. Good coffee,...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at this little B&B. Kristjan was so helpful and accomodating. He arranged all the bus services for trips to the airport, the Golden Circle tour, and the Blue Lagoon adventure. He really helped make our stay in Reykjavik very enjoyable. The rooms are basic as is the breakfast, but the reasonable price was much...

We arrived at 7:50am, I paid for the night before. The other said up the stairs to #6. No one other sentence until he said, I need your credit card, the day we checked out. I wished for another pillow and hair dryer. I discovered both the morning we checked out. Sucked that the owner did not provide any information....

Our first impression was how nicely decorated and the overall warm feeling this guesthouse has plus a good central location in a quiet neighborhood made it all the better. Also cleanliness to me is the most important criteria when I travel and Alfholl Guesthouse is that, as is all of Iceland, but the irritable owner Kristjan had us walking on...
