We arrived at Heimir's place after a road trip on what seemed to be the longest unpaved road in the world. Glad to find out that Stykkisholmur was actually a real village and not just a name marked on the map, we were even happier to meet Heimir. His place is simply charming. Our room had a view on the...

My wife and I spent two night in Stykkishólmur at Langey Homestay and had a delightful time. The house is ideally located only a few minutes’ walk from the harbor and good restaurants. Our bed room had a spectacular view of Stykkishólmskirkja, the beautiful church, as well as snow dotted mountains beyond. The house has a breakfast room and the...

4 of us booked two rooms to stay at Langey. The house is tucked in a remote corner with grass growing all around and no maintainence on the property. We reached and saw the place was a mess with toilets not clean and the house ABSOLUTELY does not look like the pics posted on booking.com. We ran and booked a...

I'm disgusted by the negative reviews. People shaming the decorating - Heimer brought us out a country magazine when we arrived, he should not have to justify his decorating style. I found his house beautiful. I loved the decor, i like to collect antiques myself. This is not a hotel- it is someone's home. Heimer sleeps in a tiny room...

We stayed two nights and felt very welcome, instantly relaxed. The host is a lovely chap who went out of his way to make us feel at home. The place was clean and warm and we had a great view from our room. We could use the kitchen, which was handy for breakfast. The town is a lovely place to...

We had a great 2-day stay in the region and the host was more than happy to share as much (or as little) information as you wanted about the region, the Icelandic language, and the people. The room was nice and cozy and all we needed (it was a very stormy night one of the nights making it extra cozy)....

We stayed at this guesthouse for one night. It is a very nice house but probably not everyone's cup of tea as you can see by the different reviews. The host is a friendly, obliging person who has a special liking for music. He even made us breakfast which was extremely friendly of him. The rooms are rather small, but...

We spend to nights at Langey homestay, one that wasn't planned but Heimir Kindly opened his house to us while a wind storm was preventing us to camp! The home is really lovely, well situated 50 meters from the Harbour. The decoration looks a little bit like a cave of wonders. Rooms are lovely, bright and clean. The host is...

The host is very welcoming and takes the time to guide you to the best places to see while you are in the area. That along with the location in town are the only good things about this stay. Unfortunately the accommodations were terrible - we were shocked after staying in similarly priced rooms at guesthouses throughout our journey. The...

We stayed at the end of March. Great value for money. Heimir gave us a lovely, clean room with a fantastic view. He was full of interesting facts and anecdotes of the local area and pointed us in the right direction to eat. A really accommodating man and a real treat to stay. If you have any musical inclinations then...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The guesthouse is in an old house that has history and a strong caracter. It is therefore different from other guesthouses in the village that are more like all the hotels you have been staying in. This will be more like staying at a local home or being an explorer of different places or cultures... as if you were Indiana Jones. ... more   less
