This review should be read in conjunction with previous reviews I have written in which I state that the Domaine des Hauts de Loire at Onzain is one of my favourite hotels in France. It remains so but the Auberge de la Caillere which is about 4 miles away is definitely worth a visit if you like good food and...

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is fine and did what was needed, nothing spectacular but nothing wrong with it and the staff are lovely, However the restaurant for dinner, my goodness what food! We went for the smallest menu available on a Friday night and there was SO much to eat! Appetisers, an amuse bouche, starter, main course,...

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed staying here. This inn is family run and they are very friendly. We found this a central spot for exploring the chateaux in the area. The breakfasts were terrific. The room was nice and modern. Unfortunately we stayed on two evenings when the dining room wasn't open so had to walk into...

We booked this hotel for 4 nights in September. We asked for a Character room. The room we had was in the new part of the Hotel, on the ground floor. If the description 'Character' was meant to imply there was some, it didn't. The room was fine though apart from the plug in the basin not working. Although a...

Very stylish hotel, with lovely staff and a really good restaurant! We loved our overnight stay. The room was cosy and well appointed, with a good shower. There is a nice garden to sit and relax in (weather permitting) and very nice range of wines etc to quaff!

When we arrived on a sunday lunch time, the car park was packed, which was an indication of the restaurants popularity. We were given a pleasant first floor room which was well furnished and decorated. In the evening, we enjoyed an excellent dinner ,but the dining room was full again ! Booking a table is recommended at the time of...

My partner booked this hotel, specifically due to the restaurant, part of the Logis group. At the time of booking there was no mention of needing to reserve a restaurant table. We therefore arrived on Saturday late afternoon, after a long drive feeling tired and looking forward to an excellent dinner. We were extremely disappointed to be advised that the...

I don't have enough words to describe how lovely this hotel is. It is located in a pretty Loire Valley village of Cande-sur-Beuvron with windy streets, cute houses, and lush greenery. The Auberge is truly quaint with the thick brick walls covered with ivy, beautifully manicured grounds, and a lovely terrace. Our room was in the new modern section with...

Stayed here on our last night of our holiday and it was certainly a highlight. The room was great value, clean and comfortable. But the real treat was the restaurant - incredible food and amazing service. Well worth spending a it more to have a truly special meal

Stayed here on first stop for cycling holiday down the Loire. Hotel is good, rooms are not luxurious but very clean and comfortable, and good modern showers. Restaurant is outstanding - one of the best meals we have had in years, and not unreasonably priced given the quality of the food. The extensive range of amuse bouches served with aperitifs...
