Firstly, I've started this a couple of times and have not been able to do Palazzo Citta Valletta justice. We had the penthouse for three nights, then another suite for two nights. The view from the penthouse is stunning. When Franck took us up there in the private lift, both my wife and I thought there must've been a mistake...

I really don't think I can add anything to the reports below (with one exception!). Palazzo Citta is a beautiful property a few minutes away from the main square and other sites. Franck is an excellent host who gave us a thorough tour of our apartment and advice on where to shop & eat. Our apartment was perfect for us...

Great apartment, stone ceilings, old tiled floors and access to a beautiful internal verandah all contributed to a lovely atmosphere. Lovely comfortable bed with plenty of bedding for a winter stay. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. Franck was really kind and helpful but not intrusive. Would thoroughly recommend

The cozy deep green car that brought us to the Palazzo Citta Valletta from the airport was the first sure sign that we were dealing with a class act!! Then the entrance hall of the Palazzo was like a kaliadascope of treasures in every inch your eyes met. But the open loving energy of our host made sure we never...

The apartments were within a very old historic home in the city of Valletta, just a few blocks away from the main square. The apartment consisted of a small kitchenette, complete with stove, sink, fridge and table, a sitting room, a bedroom, and a well-arranged, but small, bathroom. Everything was nicely decorated. I liked the location, but my apartment, on...

I am sorry that your experience at Palazzo Valletta did not live up to your expectations, but may I assure you that all our guests are treated equally and the numerous good reviews here and on other sites are not due to any preferential treatment. We provide a complimentary individual taxi on arrival and a welcome meet and greet where...

We recently returned after a 4 night stay at the Palazza Valletta Suites with our two children. Unfortunately the weather was brutal in Valletta, and we spent the first very cold night without power due to a thunderstorm that left us without power and heat...but the hotel was great. First off, the building is a really neat old building that...

I cannot but agree with all the 5 Star reviews of the last year. As these visitors have all explained the advantages and charms of this Palazzo, it would be just a repeat of the many positives...all very true! Franck is well travelled and has taken all the impressions from his travels to make life easy for the guests, and...

Comfortable and very tastefully furbished/decorated place to stay in a refurbished but historic building. This includes airconditioning and electric cooking range, satellite TV while keeping the traditional stone house characteristic. The host, Franck, is the living proof that it is worth choosing such places instead of impersonal corporate hotels. While these are apartments are for potential self-catering - the kitchen...

I chose this place to stay because of the reviews and was not disappointed. I can only reiterate what everyone else says, you will not regret booking this accommodation. Frank was extremely helpful and more informative than the tourist information centre! We fell in love with Valetta's historical charm and it was so nice and a delightful change not having...

Stately wooden & glass doors open into a foyer of great charm & understated elegance; this leads to an intimate central courtyard filled with overflowing pots & a sense of serenity. Our first floor apartment at the front of this beautiful historic mansion was perfect - very spacious & very comfortable and very quiet. You're in the heart of Valletta,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Palazzo Citta Valletta is a 16th century Palazzo located on the “High” side of Valletta, a much sought after location, on one of its principal streets. The house is one of the earliest to be built in the city when two smaller houses dating to around 1580 were joined and remodeled in 1622 in the understated Baroque style so typical of the buildings of that era in Malta. As is typical with most layouts of the time, the building revolves around a large central courtyard or patio. A door and hall large enough to take a coach and horses connects to the street. Cellars housed the stables, the ground floor the kitchens and the first floor the servants’ quarters. On the second floor called the “Piano Nobile” lived the gentry. Various important Maltese families have occupied the house and for a period of years it was also the headquarters of a leading commercial company. The house was locked up for numerous years until a careful and loving restoration was commenced some years ago under the direct supervision of the present owner. The result is a subtle mix of traditional and modern within an imposing structure albeit full of elegance and charm.Just one hundred meters from San Gwann Square the main square of Valletta, the Valletta fruit and vegetable market, food stores and 10 minutes from Malta's main bus terminal. The “Patron”’ of the house has opened the house to a few select guests wishing to relive the splendor of Valletta’s glorious past. A totally new concept in Maltese hospitality not unlike Riyadhs in Morocco, Paradores in Spain and Posadas in Portugal, a unique experience to share in the day to day living within an authentic 16/17th century “Maison de Ville”. Palazzo Valletta offers a high end lodging alternative to hotel accommodation in Malta, at very competitive rates.A total of only four suites ranging from a ground floor junior suite to a de luxe penthouse with panoramic views are grouped around the central patio, the heart of the house. Each suite comes with cotton bed linen, anti allergen pillows and mattress and silk bed covers, pure cotton towels, fluffy cotton bathrobes, cutting edge Italian design kitchen and appliances from a well known brand, Italian bright ceramic bathroom tiles.Daily maid serviced with regular change of towels, pillow cases and sheets. ... more   less
