Well no water in pipes so toilet won’t flush. Had hot water so had to put shower head in toilet tank to fill it up. Rather grumpy old man to check you in. Good location. Ants in the room. Hardest beds in the universe. I don’t think I would stay here again. Breakfast café is excellent

We stayed at the Metropole for one night but would’ve happily stayed longer. Great location for bars and dozens of little shops and restaurants amongst beautiful little streets, the Metropole is a few minutes from the marina, castle and beach. We arrived without a booking, the manager Steve was so lovely and helpful. We got car parking and a room with 3 single beds at a good rate. The room and bathroom were spotless, the air conditioning was really good and kept the room cool really well. The building had a lovely nostalgic feel to it and it felt like a family-run little establishment. We got good recommendations from staff who were friendly, Steve was helpful at every opportunity. The bar next door was lots of fun too! We would definitely stay there next tine we go to Limassol!

Stayed in this Hotel for 4 nights from 22nd to 26th August. The room (Rm15) was very clean and done everyday, with comfortable beds, bath, AC and a balcony. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is very good with walking distance to shops, restauranta and a short walk to the beach.

The room was very clean with friendly staff, albeit basic. The location is very good with everything close by. It's a bit old school where you have to hand your key in at reception before going out which we didn't like given security and no one ever checked who we were when we returned. On the positive side, they do a great bacon or sausage sandwich in a nice quiet spot for breakfast (we didn't opt for the included breakfast, just turned up as it was reasonably priced). The rest of the menu looks very British so would be a good place to escape the local food.

Stayed a wonderful 9 nights at this lovely hotel, very clean hotel, rooms are all cleaned to the highest standard daily, staff are all very friendly and helpful, plus have a lot of local knowledge, always willing to help with all your needs & want's, within easy walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, bars and the beach is only a short walk away The Wi-Fi is not the best in the room but if you go outside works fine, they are working to address this issue there is a vintage cafe next door, run by a lovely down to earth & friendly English couple, who go that extra mile to provide you the best quality breakfast and have a full selection of drinks available, plus a wide range of ice creams and floats to choose from, plus a lot more too Geoff Wolverhampton, UK

I never regret I chose this hotel. It's quiet, owner & staff are helpful, everything is very clean. Everyday cleaning in room, never disturbed me.They let me to keep my stuff for a while after I left. Location is precious, nearby the sea, all the shops and nextbike rental station. I paid for a single room 50 eur/night. Thank you very much! BTW, take a look at their mermaid, it's way funny))

Booked here for a friend's birthday via Facebook. Was amazingly accomodating and catered for all our needs. Lovely little setting in old town limmasol perfect for a little tea room setting. 9 of us sat down for afternoon tea and a few jugs of pimms. Sandwiches were ok, possibly a few more flavours. Scones were to die for and the cakes well they are in a world of their own. Best carrot cake I've ever tasted and as a baker quite disappointed I can't make cakes as good as the owner!! All home made and a little bit of England in Cyprus! Will be going back again definitely!! Can't believe the price of it because the quality is fantastic! One of the best after noon teas I've tasted!

I am writing this from a hotel in Larnaca. Like the Metropole, it is located centrally, is almost the same price for a room, but is very much better equipped. For example, the Larnaka hotel has a balcony, table and chair and clothes-line on the balcony, tea / coffee making facilities, ironing board and iron, luggage rack 2 bottles of water, excellent mattresses, wonderful, free-flowing shower, basin plug - all things the Metropole doesn't have. In one sense, the comparison is unfair, because the Metropole is from a different era. I understand that you can't suddenly put a balcony outside a room. But you can offer top quality from the base you start with. So, the good things. As everyone notes, the location. Yes, terrific. The room I occupied for 2 nights was spotlessly clean. The a/c worked well, the desk was fine, lighting was good, the curtains effectively blacked out the room at night, and the light-weight gauze curtain effectively blocked out the hot sun, but still allowed plenty of light in the room. The wardrobe was fine, and the small fridge kept supplies cool. The toilet flushed well, and there is a small ledge over the basin to put items like shaver and tooth brush. Hot water is instant, and it is hot, thanks to the small heater on the wall. There is a most beautiful coloured blanket made of soft light wool that I'd love to own, and which is located in the wardrobe. Do have a look, even if in the warm weather you don't need to use it. The staff on Reception were unfailingly courteous and helpful, and that was appreciated. So what's not to like. The mattress on my single bed had definitely seen better days. Mattresses don't last forever, but this one is being asked to do active service past its use-by day. If you can get the shower to emit more than a weak flow of water, you have managed something I really couldn't achieve, regardless of time of day. The water pressure in the shower, then, is poor, but there doesn't seem to be a problem with the basin water pressure. This Is the kind of thing that should be checked, and acted on. Tell me, why don't hotels provide basin plugs? Do guests steal these things? If they do, attach the plug to a chain. If it's one of those metal plugs you push up and down with a lever, make sure it works. Too often, the water runs out as fast as it is put in the basin. To access the room I occupied, you use the stairs, and you carry the luggage. Bear this in mind, if carrying luggage upstairs is a problem for you. Many Brits like a breakfast which has its central item fatty bacon, processed meat, fried eggs and cheese. Add thin white bread half toasted, and they think they're in paradise, never mind the arteries. Not this curmudgeonly Aussie. On Morning 1, I wasn't asked what I wanted, aside from tea or coffee. The bacon and eggs simply arrived, as did the toast. Ok,so I look like I'm from the UK. By Morning 2, I found from a menu card in the room that muesli is available. Although breakfast is included in the tariff, you don't know what the breakfast actually comprises for the price you've paid for the room, and items on the breakfast menu have prices alongside them.. On the first morning, I was in a hurry, as I had a bus to catch. On the second morning, there was no rush, and the lady on duty was happy to provide me with muesli. I also got a slice of that thin white bread toast. My feeling is that you shouldn't have to ask what it's possible to have, and what isn't. You should be offered a menu on arrival, and this should tell you what's possible. Breakfast is listed as available at 8, but my advice is to wait until about 8:20, by which time they are set up. Yes, everything should be ready at 8, if that's what the hotel advertises, but it isn't, so if possible allow more time. So, it's a mixed bag. The Metropole is ok, but it could be better, as I am finding in Larnaca.
