We stayed at the hotel during October for a night, which happened to be snowing for the whole day. The hotel is centrally located between the train station and Old Town, with 10 minutes walk each way. The hotel staff were efficient and helpful during check-in and check-out. The reception staff retrieved my reservation details fairly quickly and we got...

Only 10 mins walk from Salzburg Train Station, its conveniently located in the new town at a major intersection which made it a little noisy with the window open but if you shut it, its fine. Its opposite Mirabell Garden and only a block away from Panoramic Tours (which do the original Sound of Music, Eagles Nest Tours etc). Other...

I didn't like this hotel. The room was stuffy and noisy with a tiny bathroom. The carpet and the furniture were old. It was expensive. And the staff were very unfriendly. I could forgive the rest if the staff were helpful but they didn't care at all.

We were very pleased with Austrotel. The location was very convenient to most of the sights of Salzburg. We walked almost everywhere in central Salzburg. The room we had was very large, with a similarly large bathroom. The breakfast was very adequate with hot and cold foods. The wi-fi at no extra charge was an added bonus as well, although...

A very nice hotel in a great location for getting from the train station and exploring the town. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The only problem we had was the lack of A/C. The temperatures were in the high 20's to mid 30's (C) and due to the location on a busy street, it...

We booked online in advance and stayed here for 89 euro, though we note the full price of a double room to be 210 euro. The bathroom was enormous - enough room to swing a cat, which makes a very pleasant change from some of the other hotel bathrooms in Austria and Europe in general. There was even a little...

We stayed for two nights in late June 2010. The Austrotel is a mid-range tourist hotel, not exactly what I'd expect from a 4-star hotel. Everything was clean and well kept but derfinitely no luxury here. Free internet and soft-drinks were a plus though and the location next to Mirabell garden is good. Our room was on the attic floor...

We booked this hotel for the location and the fact that it was a 4* hotel, but it was more like a 3*. The rooms were average but there was no air conditioning and when we stayed it was 37 degrees so we needed it. No kettle or complimentary water in your room and the discounted parking rates were only...

We were greeted by very friendly staff. The rooms were large and comfortable. Breakfast was good though not very good. What we loved most was their offer of coffee, tea, water, soft drinks on the house 24/7 in the lounge. After a day's sightseeing it was most refreshing ! Would certainly recommend it and stay there again.

This is a great hotel but with considerable street noise when the window is open. It was particularly hot and humid during my stay in June so I tried to keep the window open at night.
