Rooms are large and comfortable though a little dated. However the location is perfect for a stay in this charming city. All tours start across the street at beautiful Mirabellgarten and the delights of the old city are a pleasant fifteen minutes stroll away. The...More
We gave this hotel 5 stars because, despite not being located in the old town part of Salzburg, it was clean, spacious, an easy 10 min walk to the old town, and only 60 euros (pre-paid) in February 2013.
It is a bit further walk...More
Good location between old town and train station. Very close to river and many tourist sites. Coach tours leave from a few hundred metres away (Sound of Music, Salzkammergut etc). Several cafes and shopping in the area. Some of the most beautiful laneways and architecture...More
Very easy walk to the old town, and 5 minutes from the main train station. The rooms are large and very comfortable and affordable. Breakfast was expensive considering theres a bakery right outside. Would definitely recommend this again.

My husband and I walked from the train station. It is a pretty direct route, but takes around 15 minutes. We only had one suitcase each, so walking was easy. At the information desk in the train station, you can ask for the bus number. The bus stop is outside the train station. You can also take a taxi if you have a lot of luggage.
