We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is conveniently located, about 4 minutes walk from the railway station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We could book day trips through them and we were picked up at the hotel. The room was...More
The three nights we spent at this wonderful hotel were not enough, and if I had it to do again, I would have spent twice as long both in Salzburg and in this hotel. The room was surprisingly spacious, very well-designed and tastefully furnished. Interestingly,...More
I actually didn't expect much from seeing the room layout with kind of old style/deco because I'm more into modern style.
but I booked it anyway because the location is about 15' away from the center, close to a bus stop taking us to the...More
We chose the hotel for the great value offered and were pleasantly surprised by the service and the hotel itself. Its not new but has some old charm. It is spotless and the staff can't do enough for you. It takes about 15 minutes to...More
Lovely hotel, excellent and helpful staff. Very clean and room was a good size. The restaurant was closed during our stay, but Peter, a helpful member of staff suggested other places to eat. We were not charged for the tea and coffee we had in...More

This was my second visit to this hotel and when I do go back again to Salzburg this would be my first choice. We went in 2007 and again June of this year. The hotel restaurant and breakfast area have changed between visits. The hotel rooms are good sized and clean and comfortable. They look the same as when I went in 2007 but everything is in good shape. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station (less than a 5 min walk). There are buses you can take but Salzburg is a very walkable city. We were there for 6 days and only used the bus in the city twice. We ate two night in the old town area and two night at the Augustine's beer hall (personal favorite) and two night in the hotel bier garden. There is a supermarket in the train station now which is new. You can't get anything you need. There is also a laundromat from the hotel, maybe a 10 min walk or you can take the bus. The rooms are air conditioned we were there and they were having a heatwave (temp above 90 f) which is very rare for them. Had a superior double room when we stayed both times. breakfast is not included like it was in 2007 but there is a lot to choose from so we found it was worth it. We used Salzburg as a base and took the train to Werfen to do the ice caves and to Hallstadt and took the bus over to Bertchesgarden, Germany where we did the salt mine tour and went upon the Eagles nest. Anyway hope that helps, Salzburg is my wife and I favorite town this was our fourth trip there and I am ready to go back. Let me know if you have any questions. I know Salzburg really well. Also look into getting the Salzburg card worth the money
