Just spent four nights at the Sacher to visit Salzburg and the Christmas Markets. Hotel location is perfect, Salzburg is not large and everything is an easy walk from the hotel. Our room was probably an unrenovated room, certainly bore no resemblance to any of the rooms on the hotel's web site. It was large and in very good condition,...

This hotel is an ideal base to explore Salzburg, right on the river opposite the old town. Service and facilities can't be faulted and the public areas are luxurious but at a human scale. Ask for a room on an upper floor, overlooking the old town and enjoy this great hotel and a fabulous city.

This is a first for me. I was actually DOWNGRADED rooms. I booked (and PAID FOR) a Junior Suite for three nights and was put in a Top Deluxe Room instead. The room seemed a bit smaller than I was expecting but how do you REALLY know what 430-538 square is supposed to look like? When I figured out I...

We were so pleased with the service, food and ambiance at this fabulous little hotel. It was wonderful to be treated to our own individual Sacher Tortes, Bonbons and fresh fruit upon arrival and also room to relax and move around with two chairs and a lounge. Our room overlooked the river and the pedestrian bridge was literally just out...

LOCATION The hotel is centrally located and the perfect situation on the river. There is no better hotel in Salzburg. Visit the footbridge next to the river and marvel at the lovers padlocks on the bridge. The old town is just across the river and wonderful to explore. FACILITIES The breakfast room in overlooking the river with beautiful decoration. FOOD...

We stayed for 4 nights after arriving from The Hotel Sacher in Vienna. We had a newly renovated Junior Suite that had 2 balconies overlooking the Salzach River and Old Town. It was well appointed, as was the bathroom and there was very generous hanging space. The decor was beautiful. The hotel is in a perfect position and each evening...

Oct 4 Traveling from Central Europe to Austria I cannot help notice the leap in hotel prices at hotels of the same or similar standard. In addition to higher room prices the rooms are smaller. Our room # 202 was a tight fit compared to the other rooms we've had, but through the trickery of many mirrors, it seemed larger....

The hotel is in a really great location, easy walking distance from the popular areas. The rooms are clean and nice, service was excellent, although the plaid walls in the guest rooms are not my thing but it is the style of the hotel I guess. We had a great dinner in the restaurant and saw Julie Andrews with a...

This is a great hotel. The front desk was friendly, attentive and efficient. I read the review about the staff being perhaps snobbish and we think that was far from the mark. The room was clean and well tended by the staff. The hotel offered a cafe as well as a dining room and inside/outside bar. The cafe offered the...

Spent two nights at the Hotel Sacher Salzburg recently and found the service at the hotel to be second-to-none. It is a true five-star experience in every respect. I booked a standard room, which was small by American standards, but perfectly appointed and with a perfect view of the Old Town and the fortress across the river. The bathroom had...
