Our room was lovely and spacious. The shower was temperamental. But I could hear people snoring so clearly, I thought it was one of my travel buddies. The staff was very helpful in getting us directions to a laundry. Hint: do laundry before or after Vienna . Two loads of laundry was 45 euros. Also, we were not arriving until...

We stayed during a brief summer visit to Vienna. This is a very spartan accommodation -- in a city of such great culture it seemed weird that there wasn't a single piece of art on the walls. Usually we take hotel art for granted, but if it is missing and all you have is a barren white wall, then you...

Nothing special about this pension. It is a guest house rather than a hotel. The staff is helpful and the pension is well managed and clean, even if the premices are a little quaint. Breakfast just ok, but enough to start the day and make it to a nice Café. On Saturday night one could here the echo of a...

We stayed at the Pension Schottentor between Christmas and New Year's. We were traveling as a family of 6. The hotel is conveniently located near the Schottentor metro stop. The hotel staff were very friendly. They allowed to leave our luggage (since we had arrived early by overnight train) and then moved our luggage into the room for us before...

I stayed in Pension Schottentor over Easter holidays, and I cannot really relate to all the complaints written in here. We arrived at about 11 am and got our rooms immediately. The rooms were clean, including the bathroom. Beds, pillows and blankets were good. There was some noise from the corridor if someone passed by but that is the case...

We are a family, with 2 kids and we just spent the X-mas there, from 22nd to 27th december, renting 2 rooms. In just a few words, our holiday was : "+" : - even on a main street, there was no noise from the street at all; - very close to the city center, just 5 minutes walk to...

Room for four person, was actually part of flat: plenty of room to open suitcases. Our room was opposite side of street, 4th floor, not any noise at all . Basic accommodation, pensions WiFi works fine. Room was old, but clean. Breakfast is thin, if you are used to buffe breakfasta. Btw Vienna has many opportunities to get breakfast in...

I unfortunately stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on August 2011 with my girlfirend. First of all, they made us wait for 5 hours for our room!!! I mean really 5 hours. They always told us "sorry it will be ready in 30 minutes" :) Location is OK, breakfast is OK (cakes are nice) Rooms are DIRTY, old and...

We stayed in this hotel while attending a conference of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine from Friday October 8th to Thursday October 14th 2010. The place was full of cigarette smell. All bills were settle at the time using our credit card. The worst experience and a shock for us was that the hotel illegally charged our credit without...

Stay hear for the location and price, not the place itself. It functions as a place to sleep and eat that is within walking distance of streetcar or subway hubs. It is in an old building, and a lot; from the rooms to the bath could use a major remodel (even leveling the floors from one side of the room...

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
