The hotel is conveniently located near a pedestrian street with restaurants, shops, coffee places, etc. (Mariahilfer, if I remember correctly). Less than 4-minute walk from a U-Bahn station (Naubaugasse). And if you like walking, you can even arrive from the hotel to the place where...More
Highly recommend staying here. Perfect location right outside Bahn stop and close to many things in the area. The staff was great and very accommodating to help with anything you need. The bus stop was right outside our window, so that was a bit noisy...More
Great location next to a U-Bahn stop so it's easy to see the city. Very clean and large room and it was quiet at night. The owner and staff were helpful in giving directions and suggesting places to go. Always felt very safe in the...More
The advice we received from the host and staff helped make our vacation more enjoyable. Our large room had tall ceilings and a clean comfortable bathroom and was better than we expected. There is a metro station a block away and many restaurant choices close...More
Everything was great!!! Tina is a wonderful host. As soon as we got there, she welcomed us & showed us everywhere to go in the city! Very clean & roomy enough for 4 people. We would definitely stay there again.

Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with
its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.

You will need to take the U1 metro line at the Sudtiroler Platz station. We bought a 2 day pass on metro tickets, I believe. There are signs in the train station to follow to get you there, or ask an agent. Get out at the Stephansplatz station and then take the U3 towards Ottakring. Exit the metro at Neubaugasse. You should now be on Mariahilfer. This is where it got tricky. The boardinghouse is the street behind Mariahilfer at Chwallagasse 2. The metro exits were confusing because they exited in two different places on the same street! We had a tough time with this, so have gps, or contact the hotel and ask specifically which exit is closest. Once you find it the first time it is much easier the second, but we did goof up again once! The boardinghouse is at the back end of building. Once there, walking to the old city is pretty easy, or you can continue to metro in. We did both. It is a great location and hotel!
