This is a charming hotel with a lovely staff in a great location near trains, downtown, restaurants, shops, and Jazzland. I love Vienna, and this is my 4th trip to the city, and my first stay at the Kaerntnerhok. We had the suite at the...More
A central, but quiet, location within walking distance of all the sights in Innere Stadt and also close to the U Bahn. There were many restaurants nearby. We stayed in the Christiane Horbiger suite which was very spacious and suited our family of four. The...More
Arriving by train to Vienna, the Kaerntnerhof hotel is located in the heart of the shopping area near St. Stephen’s cathedral. It’s 2 minutes walk to Stephansplatz station and for those who like to walk you can walk down the main shopping street all the...More
This hotel is right in the middle of everything, but tucked away in a tiny cul-de-sac that makes it both convenient and quiet. It's sandwiched between two excellent restaurants, with many more just steps away. My room was a single. It was small, but not...More
Small but perfectly formed room, with all the necessities nicely presented; old-fashioned decor with charm, in keeping with the location, and a lift straight from The Third Man. Reasonable breakfast, as long as you ask for your coffee rather than using the machine.
North of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna suddenly turns small, winding and medieval, opening up to legendary places such as the Basilisk sculpture at Schönlaterngasse, as well as glamorous baroque façades, courtyards and churches. Take 45 minutes for a casual stroll through Bäckerstrasse, Sonnenfelsgasse, Köllnerhofgasse, Grashofgasse, and Schönlaterngasse. This quarter is packed with stories
and legends that will enrich your Vienna experience.

Echo the previous response. Pfudl is fairly close along witha restaurant/bar immediately next door and many within an easy walk. Schedenplatz a short walk with good ice cream and wurstel stands. Right around the corner and on Rotenturmstrasse there are traditional small restaurants and pizza.
