InterContinental Wien, an IHG hotel, garners praise for its attentive service, with staff members frequently going above and beyond to accommodate guests. The hotel's prime location is a highlight for many travelers, offering easy access to local attractions and transportation.
Its cleanliness is also well-regarded, with spotless rooms and public areas. However, opinions are divided regarding the hotel's value and room amenities; some guests feel that the classic charm doesn't justify the high prices and note a need for updates in decor and facilities.

Hotel itself is a bit outdated, but staff made it up very well. Highly emotional intelligence for reception and porter when checking in. Bar staff was very friendly. Breakfast staff very friendly, but couldn’t handle the high amount of guests unfortunately. Buffet was well presented and good organized.

Dear Arjan B, Thank you very much for your kind feedback! We are delighted to hear that you appreciated our great location and the friendliness and professionalism of our staff. It’s wonderful to know that our reception and porter teams made a positive impression during check-in, and that our bar staff contributed to your enjoyable experience. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the busyness during breakfast. We will certainly look into ways to improve our service during peak times to ensure that all guests can enjoy a smooth and pleasant breakfast experience. Your comments about the hotel being a bit outdated are duly noted, and we are continuously working on updates to enhance our facilities while maintaining the charm that many of our guests love. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon and making your next stay even better! Best regards,

We had a standard king room and thought the room and bathroom were very nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. We loved the location because it was a short walk to the center of the city, and Stadtpark was across the street as well as a metro station, so you could either walk or ride anywhere easily, including the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful and the concierge recommended several restaurants nearby that we enjoyed. Our room did not include breakfast, but there is coffee/tea maker in the room and there was a fruit bowl on the desk daily so you can help yourself to a piece of fruit. There were many places to eat nearby that were much cheaper than the hotel breakfast.

Stayed here for four nights in Nov 2019 with my family. As a Platinum member got upgraded to their Studio suite room which was nice as it was a large room with a sitting area and nice large closet as well. The breakfast was very good and was part of our package. The location is great as the Stadtpark is right opposite so a nice option for a stroll and to see Strauss's statue, etc. And of curse the Stadrpark metro station is right there as well. The hotel is also a ten minute walk to the city center so ur close enough, but not that close to be in the heart of the walking area. The hotel is I guess a bit dated now but given that you're not spending that much time in the room, it's fine. Esp if you get a suite category!

We had 2 Suites booked for a few nights just prior to Christmas but after reading some reviews here I was anxious about my choice prior to my arrival.
Luckily I was very pleasantly surprised, I had requested rooms close to each other but understood if this was not possible however we were given great rooms with superb views on the top for sharing their own entrance corridor. The staff had acknowledged my wife's birthday with a lovely cake and personalized card too. As we were two families of 4 I assumed the rooms would be small but we had plenty of room and 2 bathrooms really made a difference.
Working in the travel industry and having stayed as some excellent hotels my expectations are always high but I would say managed too and on this occasion, they were exceeded. The location was perfect only a short walk anywhere, breakfast was everything you could possibly need and of good quality. The club lounge was well stocked and was a great place to get some work done prior to the family waking up and also for drinks and canapes in the evening.
I would highly recommend a stay here and would stay here again if I am fortunate to return to Vienna.

We stayed here last week for 3 days using our IHG points. We’re pleasantly surprised that we were upgraded to a junior suite ! We’ve never experienced that here in the US.
The service was exceptional from the bell service to the front desk from the check in to the checkout.
Our room was huge being a corner room. You have two amazing views of the city. It has its own changing room, the bathroom has sauna/shower aside from the huge bathtub.
The room comes with a Nespresso coffee maker, boiling pot and mini refrigerator. Did I mention all the contents of the mini refrigerator was complimentary!
The location was also ideal as it was right across the Stadtpark station so its only few stops away from Stephenplatz and major locations.
We would definitely come back here on our next trip to Vienna.

I'm very Disappointed on the services at this hotel, I will not be recommending this hotel to friends or family. Waiters have bad cigarettes odors, No one should have to wait two hours for a Cesar salad. Management is a joke! Overall Bad experience!

Dear Wfsghjjh, thank you very much for sharing your feedback, even though you were not satisfied with your experience at our property. I am very sorry that we were not able to meet all of your expectations this time. Our bar can get busy at some times, especially at the weekends, however a waiting time of two hours seems very long for a Ceasar Salad. Please rest assured that we take your feedback very seriously and we will forward it to the relevant head of department. Best regards, Julia Knauder Assistant Front Office Manager

Having the privilege of using my digital E.U.-Vaccination Certificate, I decided to spend some days in Vienna. I am really a fan of the Intercontinental hotels and I have naturally chosen the Intercontinental Vienna. What a superb stay it has been! Everyting was perfect, from A to Z. Being a Platinum Elite member, I was upgraded towards a Suite. Well, I can only write that it offered unparalleled luxury and class! I cannot express enough how elegant and comfortable it was. Up to the smallest detail. The bathroom was large and had its own windows, which is quite rare to be found in hotels. Plus a separate dressing and storage room. Breakfast was gorgeous and delicious. I would also mention the afternoon tea at the elegant "Cafe Vienna", with was so nice. All the personnel were very friendly and all questions were instantly answered. Special thanks to Mr Florian H., who has contributed to my wonderful experience. Will definitely be back at the Intercontinental Vienna!

I have been coming to this property for a long time. It is really a classic hotel in all the right ways. Many familiar faces always too happy to assist. When walking through the hotel I am still struck by the ambiance it just feels so right exactly how a hotel in Vienna should feel. I love looking onto the park in the Autumn it is so beautiful. the hotel faces Stadpark, great for a stroll too. The hotel has a great club lounge that unfortunately no longer serves breakfast but the staff in the breakfast restaurant went out of their way to ensure every need was met. The service all round was at the highest standards and truly World class. The hotel is in such a great location and linked up with the underground it gives you a great opportunity to do all you need independently.

We arrive by car and had to return it first at the rental company which was located at the Hilton hotel. From the Hilton hotel we walked through Stadtpark and in 10 minutes we had reached our hotel.
We were checked-in by a very nice and friendly lady. We received our drinking vouchers and some chocolate hearts due to my Spire Elite membership. And we got a room upgrade to the Junior Suite due to my Ambassador membership.
Our room was located on the 11th floor and the club lounge was on the 12th. In the club lounge which was unstaffed, we had our regular coffee for on the go and our late afternoon drinks after discovering Vienna.
I have to agree with comments from other reviewers comment that the hotel room did look a bit out-dated. But overall still an awesome room with a beautiful view of Stadtpark.
Breakfast was amazing, we got this preset of bread and other delicious things. Beside this, you can also order other dishes which are included. So one day we went for eggs and other days for pancakes, waffles or just a healthy fresh salad.
We were a bit surprised and never would do this at home during breakfast, but a nice thing was the sparkling wine the staff offered us. Since we were on a short holiday we couldn't refuse.
The location of this hotel is excellent for discovering Vienna. Cross the street and you can hop on the train to go to the zoo, aquarium, fun park or any other place in the city.
During the evening Stadtpark had a nice ambience with music, drinks and food. Definitely check that out when you are staying in the InterContinental. Due Covid we tried to stay away from busy areas, so we skipped this place, but without Covid we would gladly have joined the fun.
To recap, we really liked our stay and would definitely come back when we are visiting Vienna.

The intercontinental doesn't look much from the outside, but once you're in the lobby it's quite grandiose.
I booked the standard room and upon arrival I was given a double upgrade to a corner suite due to being a Spire Ambassador. A solid start indeed.
The room was a good size with an incredible view, although some may find the decor a little dated. The location is a short walk to the centre and it's next to a lovely park.
The breakfast was a fantastic spread although it could be a bit pricey if you do that every morning.
The gym was impressive with some decent equipment, hotel gyms are usually a bit below standard.
I'd definitely go back

Yes, they have mashine for water heating in the room. coffee and tea instant in bags.
Dear T588OUNannem I did check out their fitness facilities (which are good) but I did not check for spa services such as massage. Best check directly with the hotel.
Was there in August also. Had room in front overlooking Stadpark, wonderful hotel and location. Terrific breakfast.
There is a 2 Level parking deck under the hotel. I don't remember paying extra to park.
