Very nice hotel, excellent position. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms well furnished and comfy bed. Excellent pianist in the lobby/bar in evenings. Need deep pockets for drinks. Our deal did not include breakfast, it pays to go down the road for that. 36 Euros each was a joke. Room electrics must have been on a timer, but was sorted. Enjoyed...

The room was spacious enough... They've provided us with a free baby crib. The breakfast was simply delicious, rich... The Christmas decorations in the lobby, combined with the atmosphere from the bar, the piano made it all perfect for the season.

Stayed two nights and felt thoroughly pampered and cared for. Magnificent room which was not too hot and stuffy - 'controllable' climate control for a change. Bar provided excellent service and ambience and lady pianist was outstanding. Best breakfasts I have ever experienced - amazing range and quality of food - cannot speak highly enough about it.

We spent the Christmas week at the Grand and enjoyed our stay. Good room, very traditional and excellent bathroom. The cleaning staff were the best, always cheerful, greeted us every time with a smile and really looked after our room. The food was good, not amazing although the food in the Michelin star restaurant was excellent. Two things were disappointing....

This is probably the best hotel experience we’ve ever had in Europe. We booked (what we thought was) a basic room and it was massive by North American standards, let alone European. There was a large entrance with coat closet, separate seating/sleeping areas, a large hallway with two closets and a huge bathroom with fantastic sunken tub and dual sinks....

We had a wonderful holiday at the Grand Hotel Wien. The location is fabulous, right on the ring. -The taxi fare from the airport was about 50 euros. There isn't a free shuttle service. -There are taxis always available out front, which is great if you're not up for walking or public transportation. -The tram and bus stops are just...

Staff was extremely friendly, they let us check in early since we arrived on an early flight and we looked exausted! Surprised us with birthday cake, and bottle of champagne for new year's Eve. Room service was nice, not excellent. Room was clean, traditional, big comfortable bathroom. Central location with easy walking distance to central Vienna sites. Would visit again.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
