This hotel was just wonderful, harking back to a Victorian grandeur, whilst updated for modern conveniences. The rooms were spacious, the staff friendly & helpful, and the location excellent, right on the Ringstrasse and a few minutes walk to Vienna's key sights and old town. The breakfasts were very good with a mixture of help yourself continental buffet featuring a good selection of cereals, fruit, hams, cheeses, juices etc. They also had a menu for a cooked breakfast, which was included in the price, but available as an addition to the cold breakfast, so you could have both, and at no extra cost. They even had complimentary sparkling wine available if you wanted to start your day off with a bang, although that was a bridge too far for us. (And it was nice, as we had a glass one evening in the cocktail bar). Finally, and maybe above all, even though it was a five star, I would describe it as being comfortable & relaxed. There was no unnecessary preening and formality, and you just felt cosseted in a nice, classy hotel. We had a minor problem with our room's air-conditioning on our first night, but the staff sorted it, as soon as we spoke to them the next morning. The double glazing in the room also worked well at keeping out any street noise. We were lucky, as the day we left, Austria announced their latest lockdown. When we go back to Vienna — which we will someday — we will stay here. Nice. Classy. Comfortable.

Decent hotel in a great location. Breakfast at the rooftop buffet not a highlight, with standard service, food and no view to speak of. Disappointment from reception when asked to help understand a train ticket we pre bought. The receptionist sent us to the wrong train station, so we ended up losing around 80 euros worth of tickets.

Dear "G4310FUjonathana", Thank you for your review of our “Grand Hotel Wien”. I am happy to read that you liked our central location in the heart of Vienna. I apologize for the breakfast situation you encountered; though thank you for bringing this to my attention. On the other side I am I little bit surprised because most of our guests really like our variety at the buffet as well as the nice view on the "Karlskirche" from our terrace. I am really sorry that you went to the wrong train station because normally it is clearly stated on the train tickets where to go. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope your concerns shall not dissuade you from staying on a future occasion, and encourage you to contact me directly should you wish to discuss a return visit. Kind regards, Thomas Koppitsch Guest Relations Manager Grand Hotel Wien

I booked a room at Grand Hotel as a member of LHW loyalty program. I have got upgrade from superior to deluxe room, continental breakfast, early check-in, late check-out and welcome amenities from hotel. Room was large, with elegant interior and view to Kaertner Ring street. Both room and bathroom were equipped very well. I have visited two hotel's restaurants: Rosengarten for lunch and dinner and terrace on 7-th floor for breakfast. Service and menu were great. Many thanks to concierge, reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff for great work.

I can say, we were very lucky and also did enjoy a lot our stay in Vienna. The Grand Hotel was superb and the way they treated us was fantastic. First of all, we were very lucky, that we were upgraded to a bigger suite and I was about to ask for some walkie talkies to be able to talk to my family, because it was so big ;) The beds were very comfy and we did enjoy the room a lot. Our dog also had his fun and in all of Vienna, dogs are treated and welcomed so nicely that it was worth every penny to go to Vienna. The breakfast in the morning was also an experience. So nice and so good. The location of the Hotel is also fantastic. A short walk to the centre and also the metro station is about 100m, if not less, away. We did enjoy our stay. Staff was very friendly, location as mentioned is perfect, our room was very specious and we had also a nice balcony. You do not need a car in Vienna and will be able to get around easily either on foot or by public transportation. There is so much to experience, that a view days as we were was not enough. Go, enjoy and experience this charm of a city !!! We surely will be back...
