we had the opportunity to enjoy private dining at the Sacher for our team and it was a great experience. going up the stairs to the private room there are photos of all the famous people who have enjoyed the experience. Sadly they didn't ask to take our photo. the food, wine and service a superb experience and was a...

A wonderful experience from start to end. we were upgraded to a 1 bed suite from a junior suite as no smoking junior suites available. (Austria has a sensible view on smoking) the decor was perfect with a large lounge and a classic large bedroom with more hanging space than even we needed. No coffee/tea facilities but room service was...

What I really like about this hotel is that it is authentic (the interior design is respected through-out) and the fact that the owners really invest in maintenance of the hotel in good and bad times (2014 and 2010). I particular, however, I liked the staff - very friendly, forth-comming and welcoming guests with smile on their face. The marble...

Thought I'd died and landed in Heaven. From the minute the doorman opened the cab door on arrival, until the luggage was stowed on departure this place excelled. For reasons unknown we were upgraded to a delightful suite with a great view of the Opera and the best sound proofing I have ever encountered. Every day a little treat was...

The Sacher Hotel in Vienna, the original Sacher hotel and the home of the famous Sacher Torte, is a glorious spot in the center of Vienna with large spacious rooms and superb dining rooms which cater to Austrian cuisine. The concierge service is excellent, and the daily fresh fruit delivered to the room is wonderful! The stay in Vienna was...

Over the last four months I’ve stayed at two “Icon hotels”—Raffles in Singapore, and Hotel Sacher in Vienna. The parallels are almost uncanny. Both are old; both large; both offer up overpriced “destination items (sling and café cake); both have “halls of fame” packed with mainly old photos of singers, super models, and Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royals who have...

I had seen photos online that had formed my expectations, quite wrongly. Once I got over the surprise, I found the rooms to be quite lovely. See the rooms on the hotel website, as they are accurate representation of decor, although I think the rooms were actually a little bigger than they look in photos. They were very spacious and...

This was definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Not only were the staff incredibly nice but the location is dead center. Breakfast was lovely, the concierge very helpful with all my questions and restaurant bookings and the overall experience was definitely pleasant. As an added bonus, the spa team was amazing. If you have a chance, I...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
