Great location - close to the main city center and located the old Jewish quarter. Plenty of restaurants and things to do in close proximity. Good, free internet. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. On the negative side, very small room. No gym.

Enjoyed our stay at Hotel Stefanie. Clean, nice sized room with all the amenities. Excellent wifi service. Delicious buffet breakfast with champagne included. Good location. Basically could walk almost everywhere, The courtyard was a terrace spot to have after dinner drinks, dessert or eat breakfast. Staff all very helpful. Vienna is a great city, and this hotel made the visit most enjoyable. It is convenient for sightseeing by foot. The staff was very helpful, and the garden setting for breakfast made a good breakfast even better. The room was adequate in every way. We would stay again.

Well equipped rooms, hotel located centrally (10min walk to the Stephan’s cathedral, 3minutes walk to the next underground station with 2 lines). Very friendly, charming and helpful stuff. They will help you to arrange your evening program. Good breakfast, very nice waiter, who speaks english fluently. Good working air condition. Free WLAN. I will come back, that is sure!

Hotel Stephanie is in a great location, one block from a bus stop (including the Red Line Hop-on Hop-ff bus) and two long blocks from the tram and U. Rooms are basic (big city style) but very nice, clean and well-kept. Service was great...I complained of a faint odor of smoking in my room and they promptly moved me to...

It's a hotel that at first sight gives a very good impression. Afterwards, as one gets to know it better it is realised that it's not so good. The staff working at the lobby is kind and helpful but some of its members are somewhat stern. The rooms are quite good and comfortable; notwithstanding that, the walls are a bit...

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Stefanie in May and enjoyed our stay very much. It's an old style hotel with the most fabulous breakfast buffet we have ever encountered. I agree with other reviewers re the great breakfast but I wonder who rated this hotel as four stars. Downstairs is lovely, gracious and yes, it is a 'four star' area. But, go upstairs to the fifth floor where we stayed for five nights, and you will find maybe one star accommodation. Our room was tiny, two beds separated by...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
