The hotel is in an excellent location a few minutes walk from Rathaus metro station which means it's easy to reach from the airport and all attractions are easily accessible. On foot, the Hofburg (Spanish Riding School entrance), Burgtheater, Parliament and Rathaus are all within a 10-15 minute walk. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and...

I had read that this was a listed building so was intrigued to see it, it is located 2 min walk from the metro and is quite easy to find. Inside was very old in design but clean and well cared for. The staff were friendly and happy to help you. we were on the second floor and were amazed...

Very clean and comfortable. Staff were so friendly and the rooms were perfect for our needs. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and will definitely come back. Perfect hotel if you don't need expensive extras like minibar, gym, pool etc.

The hotel is in a really good location, a 5-min walk from Rathaus tube station (side note: the tube in Vienna operates on a really good system and is easy to understand) and a bus station that you can take to the airport. Breakfast had a good selection of foods, the usual continental fare. All of the 'must-see' places in...

Our stay in Graf Stadion was excellent. It is a petite hotel, with extremely kind people taking care of our stay. The building itself is pretty interesting Our room was a little bit small, also the shower box, but this is not a problem at all. Breakfast is very good! Location is excellent, very close to the Parliament and Rathaus....

The title of my review says it all. The guy behind reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the room was really clean. There is an antique lift which was fun to use. Free breakfast included! Recommended! Next door to Rathaus Tube station and 15 minute walk to railway arch bar area

We stayed here at the beginning of March for 3 nights and can say that it is a good hotel for a short break. If you are looking for luxury this won't be the hotel for you! The hotel is basic, but has everything you need from comfy beds to clean sizeable bathrooms. This suited my boyfriend and myself because...

This hotel is situated at a very nice location (walking distance from Rathuas and subway station). However, the staff was not friendly which was a surprise due to all the reviews we have read. We reached earlier than the check-in time and were asked to store our luggage. Due to the less amount of time we had in Vienna, we...

The room was clean and tidy, and the service was warm and friendly. We had a bit of trouble negotiating the heating (could never quite get it right), and the breakfast was just so-so, but I really don't stay at a place for its breakfast. But really, the room, the people, and the excellent and convenient location more than made...

Can't fault this charming place. Staff couldn't do enough to help. Right near metro, shops, trams, restaurants etc. Great little pub minutes away called Centimetre. Fab food, staff & reasonably priced. Great for Christmas markets.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
