-The property had a fantastic location. It was close to the main sights; just a short stroll to the palace. -The staff were friendly & helpful -The breakfast was fantastic: selection of cereal, juice, meats & cheeses, fruit, & some warm breakfast options as well as coffee & tea

I stayed 3 nights here in a single room. The room an baattached bathroom were big enough for me. Rooms very clean. Decent spread for breakfast. There does not seem to be any staff on site after late evening, which I thout was a little strange. It is in an excellent location, I would be happy

Stayed for 5 nights at this little hotel. It's got lots of old style character but at the same time still feels fresh, rooms very clean with lot's of light. Only a 10 mins or so walk to the start of the main sights and also very handy for getting public transport to other areas of the city. Lots of...

Went with family for Vienna trip and stayed here one night. Room is clean. lobby ambience is very good. Staff are friendly. Breakfast had not many options. Location wise excellent. Lot of places are nearby and good commute available. Overall a good experience. House keeping could be better and top floor rooms are recommended.

Although the building is very old, the hotel is surprisingly clean and neat. Very large triple rooms. Staff is very nice and helpful. Location is great with a nice neighbourhood and close metro station. Also you can walk down to the old city in 10 minutes. I would stay here in my next visit. PS: Great elevator..

I stayed in a double bed room during my stay. It was nice hotel. The location is awesome close to some main attractions. The staff were very nice and even allowed me check out an hour later than usual. The breakfast was good and had lots of options to pick from. Generally, the hotel has an old feel to it...

I guess most peoples opinion of this hotel will depend on what they are expecting from it. If you're expecting luxurious, large and modern rooms then this is not the place for you. We wanted a cheap, clean hotel with breakfast and easy access to the Innere Stadt and that's exactly what we got. The staff were pleasant and friendly...

Tucked away down a side street, the hotel was welcoming on our arrival. The rooms, with quirky double doors on the rooms, are small but clean and have everything you need (except for coffee and teabags but maybe we should have asked). It's extremely convenient for walking anywhere or catching the underground. The old lift is quaint, in fact, all...

The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the Rathaus and transport. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were really good with plenty of choice, really set you up for the day. We rather liked the quirky three person lift with a cushioned seat.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
