Tucked away down a side street, the hotel was welcoming on our arrival. The rooms, with quirky double doors on the rooms, are small but clean and have everything you need (except for coffee and teabags but maybe we should have asked). It's extremely convenient for walking anywhere or catching the underground. The old lift is quaint, in fact, all... More

The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the Rathaus and transport. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were really good with plenty of choice, really set you up for the day. We rather liked the quirky three person lift with a cushioned seat.

Hotel Graf Stadion was really good choice! We (wife + me) stayed there five nights in May 2016 and everything went fine, I must say. Service was very good all the time, room was cozy, quiet and very clean and breakfast was tasteful and big enough. Location of the hotel is good. Tramline 2 goes very near and Rathaus subway... We stayed at the Hotel Graf Station with a group of 8 friends. The hotel was a little 'retro' feeling but pleasant enough and full of character. Would be a 4 star from me except for the cleaner tried to enter our room twice just before 9am without knocking to clean it! (Luckily we had the chain on as well... More

IT's been a while since I wrote a review, but staying in this hotel was such a great experience that I feel obliged to share this with you :) There is absolutely nothing to complain about (and I like complaining!). Location: central, 10 minutes walk to the central square or museums quarter, tube station 3 minutes away, SPAR 1 minute... More

It's a nice, quiet place in the city centre. If You wanna see all important places in a couple of days You shall choose this hotel. Localization is the greatest advatage. Breakfast is delicious. It’s excellent accomodation for people who like small, old-style tenement houses. I really like their old-fashioned lift.

I stayed at the Hotel Graf Stadion for the 33rd Vienna City Marathon in April 2016 because it was a limping distance from the finishing point of the run. It was also near the Burgtheatre and Stephansplatz, and a stone’s throw from the Rathaus U2 metro station where I could take a train to the Vienna Sports Expo and the... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
