I love this hotel for its excellent location, a stone throw to Graben and 3 minutes walk to subway station. St Stephan Cathedral is just round the corner. Though my room is small, it is well compensated by a spacious bathroom. The place is clean. Wifi was excellent! Upon check-in, I was met by a very friendly Adam at the...

In the 55 years I've been traveling to Vienna for research and to see friends I've stayed in many hotels, including the Imperial. I've come to prefer the Kaiserin Elisabeth for its perfect location on a quiet street of the Kaerntnerstrasse and close to the U-Bahn station at the Stefansplatz. The personnel is friendly, the rooms comfortable, and the breakfast...

Fabulous Hotel, situated within walking distance of the city centre. Close to everything. Our room was large and very quiet. The reception staff were available 24/7 and were very helpful organising anything that we wanted. Would definitely stay again.

Small comfortable and friendly hotel in the city centre. It is in walking distance from opera house, and major historic places. Old and well maintained building. Good service, friendly and responsive staff.

Enjoyed our stay of 3 nights. Not too expensive and located just at a corner of one of the main streets. The staff are friendly. Very clean place, cozy rooms and comfortable bed. Quiet atmosphere. Will definitely recommend to anyone.

Location is central to the city center; very close to the underground, Opera house, St. Stephen's Cathedral. Shopping, Albertina, and Sacher torte. With the location in mind, the rooms are quiet. The room was well appointed with all the usual comforts. Bathroom was a very good size with a tub and shower long and tall enough for a taller individual,...

Outstandingly superb location for this conservatively elegant hotel with clean rooms plus good and generous breakfast choices made this a really delightful stay. Helpful and respectful staff built on that reputation. An excellent recommend for seeing Vienna right at your door step if you are a wandering couple out to explore the world. It is in the very centre and...

Hotel with old world charm. Central, couple of minutes from metro but within walking distance of the Hofberg, Opera etc. Friendly, helpful staff, generous breakfast. Request a room overlooking the courtyard to guarantee an undisturbed night.

A centuries old gem, in the middle of old town. Great decor, wonderful atmosphere. Spacious, superclean room. Very friendly and helpful staff. No bar (many around), no gym (who needs that in hotel?). Great value for money.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
