The premium plus point of the hotel is its location- just walking distance from the main station. Reception was nice, so were the receptionist. Room was clean with good heating. Bathroom was a bit small but it's ok if your are for a short trip. I had to leave early so only had little breakfast which seemed okay, as being...

The hotel locates directly next to main train station (beaware city airport train goes to Wien-Mitte train station which is far away). You need 5 min walking to the Belvedere castle and 30 min walking to the old town, so it's a bit far away from all sightseeings. The hotel itself is definetely not a 4 star and needs to...

We stayed here early December 2016 on a sightseeing trip to Vienna. The hotel is well located, about 5 mins from Wien Hauptbahnhof (main Central Train Station), which is a national/international hub, and which provides easy access to airport (15-30 min journey). The city centre is within walking distance (approx 20-25 mins), and easily accessible by good transport system -...

At first site this hotel seems a little far out but in actual fact ,because of the proximity to underground, tram and mainline stations it is actually ideal! The staff are unbelievably helpful and all speak really good English. The rooms were a little dated but were nevertheless very clean and comfortable. Overall a well priced hotel with easy access...

We stayed here from 27th - 30th December 2016. Hotel was easy to find from Vienna main central station and also the underground station. Check in was easy and the reception staff where nice, they did offer to help with any assistance or questions. Our room was in the 4th floor which was easy accessible by lifts or stairs. The...

The staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel was a couple minutes walk from the main tube station which is very handy for getting around. The hotel room itself is pretty deted but was warm during the winter. The breakfast was pretty average. The wifi worked well.

The purpose of our visit to Vienna was to do some sightseeing and visit the many Christmas markets, and our choice of hotel was very much price limited. However the initial good impression given by the wood panelled reception area was very quickly replaced by one of disappointment when we entered our room. Situated on the 7th floor at the...

One or two reviewers have concerns that this hotel is rather faded - it is. But would you rather pay twice the price so the hotel can embark on an expensive refurbishment? We wouldn't, we got a bargain break in a perfectly fine hotel with very friendly staff, clean, convenient for the city (about a twenty minute walk but get...

The hotel has a good location: 10 min walking from the main rail station, 10 minutes to Belvedere and about 40 minutes to the first district where the Opera, Alberta is. The rooms are spacious, good renovated bathroom as well. The TVs are still old fashion stile , small and on the table not on the wall. Breakfast is pretty...

I stayed at the Prinz Eugen for a few days while attending a conference, and had a great experience. The room was a bit on the small side, and hasn't been renovated recently, but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice, there was a good amount of closet space, and there was an empty minibar (something which is becoming...

Staying in Wieden

Neighbourhood Profile
Wieden
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighbourhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.

“If you have a problem sleeping with road noise, you might not want to choose a standard room, since they face the road. However, there are heavily insulated windows to block the noise. I have no idea if it was noisy, since I can sleep through an air raid.”
