Hotels in the Inner Ring are very expensive so we chose the Altwienerhof, located in the city's 15th district, as a more modest alternative, knowing that Vienna's excellent transport system would quickly get us anywhere we wanted in the centre. It was a great surprise when we first entered the hotel, it being much better than I expected. It's a...

Absolutely everything about our two nights in this hotel was wonderful. We were greeted by the owner who offered us a glass of wine after our long day. The long day turned into a long night when we met another guest in the comfortable lobby and chatted with him and the owner late into the evening. When we all grudgingly...

We stayed in the Altwienerhof Hotel after cycling the Danube Cycleway from Passau to Budapest. Panos, the owner of the hotel, is passionate about Vienna and about Austrian wines. He welcomed us to the hotel with a glass of Austrian wine and an overview of things we might like to see in Vienna. His staff was always willing to help...

It's a quite old hotel that could be a much better one. It needs a good renewal in major areas including the lobby. Rooms are very spacious (I mean VERY), but look very old too. Staff is friendly but most of them don't speak english quite well.

The hotel staff were eager to please, very friendly and helpful. The ambience of the courtyard garden made for enjoyable relaxing evenings after returning from exploring Vienna each day. We felt that the staff took pride in their hotel and really cared for their guests. Breakfasts were a delight and offered plenty of choice. Our room was spacious, well furnished...

Old fasion hotel, that travels your imagination to another era. Good location, next to U-6 line. Very quiet neibourhood. The stuff was very friendly. Breakfast very tasty, not many choices though, but this is how they keep high quality. I would definately choose this hotel if I visit Vienna again. Keep in mind that there is no hairdryer!!

The room was in need of an upgrade, but I was told the new owner is planning on redoing the rooms. When I first arrived, I was surpised that there was no internet in our room, but in the end I was glad that I had a chance to spend some time in the lobby. The staff were very friendly...
