Our family run establishment is only 5 minutes away from the Ringstrasse and lies directly on the metro line U6. The hotel is famous first of all for its excellent service and very rich hot and cold breakfast. The General Hospital and numerous private hospitals, the Viennese Brunnen and Yppen street markets, the Freud museum, Volksoper, Votivchurch, City hall or Palace Gschwandner are also in the walking distance. Because of a good location near the metro line U6 all the places of interest - from Grinzing to Schonbrunn - are easy to reach. The rooms are equipped, hair dryer, writing case, alarm clock, WiFi, sat-TV, radio, soundproof windows, phone... Classical live music on Saturday and Sunday breakfast, leafy courtyard, 24 hours open bar with Viennese wines, private SPA or a Nespresso machine in your room are only few of the many extra services we offer. Our hotel was built in 1901 as a wedding gift and offers for more than 122 years lived hospitality and Viennese tradition, also marked in the successful architectural symbiosis of Art Nouveau with modern elements.

This was my friend's 3rd and my 2nd visit to the Hotel Donauwalzer. This in itself reflects how much we enjoy this hotel. It is clean, comfortable and VERY friendly and supportive. The staff, without exception are VERY helpful and make you feel really welcome. It is also very good that Frau Kluss is very involved with maintaining the comfort of the guests, with personal chats with guests at breakfast and helping to ensure that any queries are dealt with efficiently. The breakfast is superb! If you look at its location and fear that is is a bit too far from the centre of Vienna, fear not because you can get a very inexpensive Vienna travel card at the Ubahn station which can cover a number of days and it is an easy and short journey on Line 6, change to Line 3 to get into the heart of the city. I highly recommend the Hotel Donauwaltzer and wish to go on record to thank Frau Kluss in particular, Martin ( and his colleagues) on reception and the wonderful Slovakian staff at breakfast for making this recent trip such a good one. Enjoy your visit.

As ususal everything was wonderful and done with real love and attention to detail and the customer. I was lucky enough to have a quiet room towards the park where I could sleep with the Windows open. The breakfast was absolutly stunning, I came from a much more expensive Hotel in Brno and saw that the Donauwalzer offer was way superior.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Nice rooms - noise at traffic side, but widows keeps most of the traffic noise outside. Breakfast was great and hotel lays near to the city center. So TripAdvisor want 200 letters, I have to describe more - You have to taste the Sacher Torte which is a every day breakfast service

Our family of 4 had a lovely stay at the hotel Donauwalzer. Smooth check-in, clean room, comfortable beds, spacious bedroom, lovely breakfast. But above that, numerous small touches that made us feel truly comfortable. The live music at breakfast on Saturday was a real treat too.

The pictures are deceiving - room did not look anything like on the pictures. I noticed that they are renovating all of the rooms so they’ve obviously put the pictures on of the renovated rooms but are still placing guests in old rooms on the floors that aren’t yet getting renovated. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that you can control the radiators, the bed is comfy and there’s always hot running water.. BUT, all that is kind of outweighed when the hotel charges €40 pp to use the jacuzzi. You have to leave your key with the receptionist before you leave the building every time which then means you’re queuing in the reception to get your key back. We found the reception staff to be quite rude in our experience.

Dear DaniellesR3489GB, we are sorry to read, that we could not meet your expectations and that you found pictures (where?) different than your actual room. I understand that this is irritating and can be deceiving. Please be assured, that we always try to have our website always accurate and with the right and corresponding information matching our all different rooms. Unfortunately we still do not have photos from our 22 new rooms, the beautiful pictures you might have seen on our website are all from our already existing rooms. The jacuzzi you mention is our private spa -an area (the size of a small apartment) which upon booking is exclusively at your disposal for 2 or more hours. Our private spa features not only a jacuzzi, as you correctly mentioned, but also a sauna, a IR cabin, relax chairs, a small bar with cold drinks and snacks and offers hours of relaxation and extra stress relief. We are sorry, that your found 40.- per person to be too expensive for this service offered. Just ask us next time for the nearest public bath, our front desk will gladly be of assistance. Please accept our apologies, that we did not communicate properly, that there is of course no obligation(!) to leave the key at the front desk. We simply suggest it to our guests, so that it has not to be carried around (we have heavy key chains, as you might have noticed) or can be lost. Still, we are happy to read, that you were positively surprised that we had permanently hot water, that the beds were comfortable and that you could control your room temperature though our ac system. Wishing you all the best and hoping that you had a safe trip back home, Katharina Kluss and the entire team.

We had a great experience here. The staff is wonderful. The beds are comfortable. We had a restful sleep even with windows open to cool off the room. The train stop is nearby, so it was easy to travel to the places we wanted to visit. There is a place to leave luggage when you check out, if you have time between checkout and the next flight or train ride. We did that. The McDonald's on the corner nearby has a café and table service, so we had breakfast there. It is not remotely close to a US McDonald's experience. They have pastries and a barista. I would stay here again.

All in all the hotel was ok. The breakfast is more than ample and lives up to what other reviewers have written. There are many choices of food and a pleasant room in which to eat. Having a bar/cafe on site is excellent. However what disappointed us most was that we booked an upgraded room overlooking the “park” for quiet rest—and were given a room right adjacent to a very loud nightclub that played horribly loud music from midnight to 4 am nonstop on a weekend night. When we went downstairs at 2 am to complain, they made clear that they very well knew about the weekend noise but could do nothing. What bothers us most is the staff was well aware of go in us a room that would be loud and not quiet. Moreover, when we complained to the owner in an email after our departure, we received only an invitation to a free breakfast at our next stay! We visit Vienna a lot. But there will be no next stay at the Donauwalzer.

Dear Safari463059, thank you for your review. I am happy to read that you found our hotel "ok", that you liked our ample and organic breakfast buffet and the 24 hrs opened bar. Please accept our appologies for the noise that came that night from outside the hotel. We understand that this is not very pleasant. I am also sorry to read that despite the fact that you liked the hotel, you will choose anotherone for your next stay. We hope that you will find the right hotel for you and appologize again for the inconvenience - even if some things are not of any influence or in any relation with the hotel. Wishing you all the best, Peter, FO
