Our family run establishment is only 5 minutes away from the Ringstrasse and lies directly on the metro line U6. The hotel is famous first of all for its excellent service and very rich hot and cold breakfast. The General Hospital and numerous private hospitals, the Viennese Brunnen and Yppen street markets, the Freud museum, Volksoper, Votivchurch, City hall or Palace Gschwandner are also in the walking distance. Because of a good location near the metro line U6 all the places of interest - from Grinzing to Schonbrunn - are easy to reach. The rooms are equipped with minibar, hair dryer, writing case, alarm clock, WiFi, sat-TV, radio, soundproof windows, phone... Classical live music on Sunday breakfast, leafy courtyard, 24 hours open bar with Viennese wines, private SPA or a Nespresso machine in your room are only few of the many extra services we offer, which explain our slogan "3 stars hotel with 4 stars service and 5 stars charm". Our hotel was built in 1901 as a wedding gift and offers for more than 111 years lived hospitality and Viennese tradition, also marked in the successful architectural symbiosis of Art Nouveau with modern elements.

We stayed two nights at this hotel. The room was well appointed, there was a restaurant in the hotel although we didn't eat there, so I can't comment on it. There was a tram stop right in front of the hotel which made it very easy to get to the beautiful Christmas Market. If

Dear Susan G, Thank you for your positive commentary and review! Thank you also for writing about our perfect location within town and the good connections to public transports. We are happy to know that you could travel and reach all the main attractions quickly, as well as the many many christmas markets which are spread all over town during the season! Old style (1901) hotel renewed very close to public transportation for visiting downtown. "Familiar approach" from the staff with exception of a rude lady in the breakfast room. We had a room @ 5th floor. The 3rd bed was really " emergency bed" as for the photo. We had a low

Dear Countryman55, Thank you for your review, though, of course we would have loved to convince you more of our nice little hotel. I am very sorry to hear, that you found a lady at breakfast to be rude . This should never be, and even less, as we put a great emphasis on friendliness and helpfulness. Please accept my apologies and be assured, that your review has been forwarded to the breakfast team. Also of course the fact that you liked the breakfast with its assortment and the many different homemade dishes. Furthermore, I am sorry that I personally could not explain the charging times well enough. This was obviously my fault: you can charge 24 hours, except for the high traffic periods which are from 07:00 to 09:00 and the again from 16:00 to 19:00. All the other time (the whole night and the whole day, until traffic starts) con can charge the car. We will put a sign to the 2 chargers in january to make it clearer. Even given the mentioned issues, such as to having to pay for the parking space or that room prices change depending on demand, I hope that you could enjoy your days in Vienna and that the positive memories are stronger! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas, Family Kluss

Dear dawn571, Thank you so much for mentioning our little "extra miles" and "cherrys on the cake" such as the TV program open on todays date or the sending of your forgotten items. We think, that it is these little details that make a hotel a welcoming place - or not. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and will recommend us! Thanks a lot also for this wonderful title "one of the best hotels I´ve ever stayed". WOW. Thank you so much and we hope to be able to welcoming you soon again! maybe do you want to consider spring or summer, when everything is in flowers, the bars and street cafes open again, the musicians are on the street, ….. I am sure go are going to love it! Best wished for 2019, sincerely Family Kluss

Vienna Pass provides free transportation & discount for maaaany attractions and it's only Monday to Sunday. Ιf you are going to visit the majority of those then yes, it's worthy. Keep in mind that most of them are closed on Monday. We also stayed for 5 days but we only bought a weekly transportation card that cost 17e for each and then bought the tickets for the must see museums separately which was cheaper. This is of course what worked for us. I hope I helped you.

What is the best way to get to the hotel from the train station. Thank you
So.. here is a funny story. The tram system was slightly confusing to say the least. We bought a 48 hour transport ticket which could be used on buses too. We got a train for one stop and transferred onto another tram (wrong one) off and on to another (wrong one). Finally, got on a tram and had around a 10 minute walk to the hotel. When we checked in we found that there was a closer tram No. 44 (about five stops from the centre), which we got from Schottentor stop in the centre of town (so get a tram to that stop and get on the No. 44 would be my advice). There is a stop heading back into town centre outside hotel. The tram stops further up the street on the right and it is a few minutes walk back up to the hotel. Enjoy the beautiful city!

There's a train (called CAT, you don't have to get out of the airport, follow the green signs, buy a ticket - a single ticket is 11€ as of today) that gets to Wienmitte station in sixteen minutes. That's right in the centre of Vienna. From there there's public transport (in the Wienmitte shopping centre they sell tickets and will tell you which numbers you need). Otherwise you can take a taxi from Wienmitte station.

Yes, Edith you can book rooms with air conditioner as well as upgraded rooms. We booked through Tripmasters & so we had a standard double room. The upgraded rooms were not available when we reached the hotel. The Reception desk will book you the taxi at any time. We took the taxi to the Westbahnhof station at 6:00am. as we were going to Salzburg. The taxi fare was approx.Euros 10 as far as I remember. The Reception desk will give you an idea of the fare to the Main Station. You will love Vienna !
