Our family run establishment is only 5 minutes away from the Ringstrasse and lies directly on the metro line U6. The hotel is famous first of all for its excellent service and very rich hot and cold breakfast. The General Hospital and numerous private hospitals, the Viennese Brunnen and Yppen street markets, the Freud museum, Volksoper, Votivchurch, City hall or Palace Gschwandner are also in the walking distance. Because of a good location near the metro line U6 all the places of interest - from Grinzing to Schonbrunn - are easy to reach. The rooms are equipped with minibar, hair dryer, writing case, alarm clock, WiFi, sat-TV, radio, soundproof windows, phone... Classical live music on Sunday breakfast, leafy courtyard, 24 hours open bar with Viennese wines, private SPA or a Nespresso machine in your room are only few of the many extra services we offer, which explain our slogan "3 stars hotel with 4 stars service and 5 stars charm". Our hotel was built in 1901 as a wedding gift and offers for more than 111 years lived hospitality and Viennese tradition, also marked in the successful architectural symbiosis of Art Nouveau with modern elements.

Arrived to Vienna from Salzburg and found my way to the hotel. From the train station (Wein Mitte) you have to take the U to Scottenter and then the 44 tram to the hotel. There is a tram stop across the hotel and two U stations of walking distance. The receptionist wasnt the

Breakfast was excellent and had multiple items to choose. Atmosphere and hotel staff were nice. Location is not at the center of the city, but very close distance to walk and trains went very close to hotel. Only drawbacks in our visit was that spa sauna was not heated properly

The Hotel is very well located and is only a very short distance from the City Centre by tram which travel very frequently. Our room was situated at the back of the hotel which enabled us to sleep with windows open without the distraction of passing traffic. It was well

Superb hotel in all respects with a wonderful breakfast buffet. A hard to beat hotel. We have just spent 3 nights in Vienna, a beautiful city, the visit was thoroughly enhanced by the hospitality at the Donnauwalzer hotel. Ian & Jennifer.

HI Irene W., the city tax is closely related to the price per night, but it is roughly about 3% of the price per night. Greetings from Vienna, Family Kluss and Team

Vienna Pass provides free transportation & discount for maaaany attractions and it's only Monday to Sunday. Ιf you are going to visit the majority of those then yes, it's worthy. Keep in mind that most of them are closed on Monday. We also stayed for 5 days but we only bought a weekly transportation card that cost 17e for each and then bought the tickets for the must see museums separately which was cheaper. This is of course what worked for us. I hope I helped you.

What is the best way to get to the hotel from the train station. Thank you
So.. here is a funny story. The tram system was slightly confusing to say the least. We bought a 48 hour transport ticket which could be used on buses too. We got a train for one stop and transferred onto another tram (wrong one) off and on to another (wrong one). Finally, got on a tram and had around a 10 minute walk to the hotel. When we checked in we found that there was a closer tram No. 44 (about five stops from the centre), which we got from Schottentor stop in the centre of town (so get a tram to that stop and get on the No. 44 would be my advice). There is a stop heading back into town centre outside hotel. The tram stops further up the street on the right and it is a few minutes walk back up to the hotel. Enjoy the beautiful city!

There's a train (called CAT, you don't have to get out of the airport, follow the green signs, buy a ticket - a single ticket is 11€ as of today) that gets to Wienmitte station in sixteen minutes. That's right in the centre of Vienna. From there there's public transport (in the Wienmitte shopping centre they sell tickets and will tell you which numbers you need). Otherwise you can take a taxi from Wienmitte station.

Yes, Edith you can book rooms with air conditioner as well as upgraded rooms. We booked through Tripmasters & so we had a standard double room. The upgraded rooms were not available when we reached the hotel. The Reception desk will book you the taxi at any time. We took the taxi to the Westbahnhof station at 6:00am. as we were going to Salzburg. The taxi fare was approx.Euros 10 as far as I remember. The Reception desk will give you an idea of the fare to the Main Station. You will love Vienna !
