We had a great experience here. The staff is wonderful. The beds are comfortable. We had a restful sleep even with windows open to cool off the room. The train stop is nearby, so it was easy to travel to the places we wanted to visit. There is a place to leave luggage when you check out, if you have time between checkout and the next flight or train ride. We did that. The McDonald's on the corner nearby has a café and table service, so we had breakfast there. It is not remotely close to a US McDonald's experience. They have pastries and a barista. I would stay here again.
As ususal everything was wonderful and done with real love and attention to detail and the customer. I was lucky enough to have a quiet room towards the park where I could sleep with the Windows open. The breakfast was absolutly stunning, I came from a much more expensive Hotel in Brno and saw that the Donauwalzer offer was way superior.
All in all the hotel was ok. The breakfast is more than ample and lives up to what other reviewers have written. There are many choices of food and a pleasant room in which to eat. Having a bar/cafe on site is excellent. However what disappointed us most was that we booked an upgraded room overlooking the “park” for quiet rest—and were given a room right adjacent to a very loud nightclub that played horribly loud music from midnight to 4 am nonstop on a weekend night. When we went downstairs at 2 am to complain, they made clear that they very well knew about the weekend noise but could do nothing. What bothers us most is the staff was well aware of go in us a room that would be loud and not quiet. Moreover, when we complained to the owner in an email after our departure, we received only an invitation to a free breakfast at our next stay! We visit Vienna a lot. But there will be no next stay at the Donauwalzer. …
We had a great time at this hotel to visit the Christmas markets in Vienna. It was easy to get into the middle of the city by public transport .Very clean great breakfasts and attentive staff. The room was very spacious and although on a main road in was very quiet
What a wonderful find! We've just had a great stay at this lovely hotel. Our room was huge, super clean with great shower. Breakfast was fantastic! Set us up for the whole day. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was superb! Albert, the hotel's dog was beautiful! We'll be back!
Nice hotel convenient locationnext to the metro and the tram station and close to the city center Clean and pleasant rooms Although the style in the lobby is minimal the rooms are old style The mattresses need upgrade
We stayed early December the Christmas decorations were very elegant and suited the hotel. Breakfast on one morning to Strauss music was lovely so much choice. You would have to be really hungry to do it justice at €20 a head. A little chaotic as obviously open to other than residents of the hotel. Trams and trains very handy we went in and out in the tram for €2.40. The tickets are valid for all public transport which is excellent. Once you get into the swing of which goes where. Schonnbrunn Palace an easy train trip and the Christmas market there was fabulous. Staff at the hotel were lovely and you can get a snack and coffee but no restaurant. We also needed extra pillows and that was quickly attended to and extra coffee pods for the room. Highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel was perfectly situated for us, a walk into town that didn’t bother us and trams are available. On first look the hotel is very boutique, smart on the outside and the entrance. The staff are all friendly and really helpful and the owners are even spotted working in the hotel. We had a cheaper room and it was basic. The walls and ceiling are paper thin and you can hear ‘everything’ from the rooms around you. Not sure what happens on the floor above but it sounded like a party every night! The room was extremely hot and the pillows non-existent which fortunately didn’t make for a great nights’ sleep. The beds were made most days but cups were left unwashed and the coffee wasn’t refilled. Breakfast is something to behold and has to been seen to be believed. The coffee machine however doesn’t make a great coffee. You can pay for one, bit on top of €20 per person it seems a bit expensive. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but probably wouldn’t stay again.…
Breakfast was really good, beds comfortable however pillows very thin and no support had to use 4. Staff were lovely, we had to move room from the front of the hotel at 3 a.m the first night due to a nightclub over the road which was really really loud and went on for hours with a boob boom noise vibrating through our room. The third night it started again but as we were at the back of the hotel now the noise wasn’t as bad but we were still woken up by it. Due to this disturbance I would not use the hotel again. The underground station is a short walk which takes you all over the city quickly.
Our room was right at the top under the eaves, warm, comfy, themed with playing cards. We loved it. The breakfast have to be seen to be believed, I have never seen anything like it, even a waffle maker with the mix ready to go. Every item of food you could ever want, even Sacher Torte for breakfast. Friendly and polite staff, all just perfect.
