Getting out of the Wien Westbahnhof, this hotel was very easy to find and only a 4 minute walk away from Vienna's main station. The employees at the reception were very friendly and helpful, especially after talking in German to them. They have offered us a smoking room, a map of Vienna showing all the tourist attractions and a card...

We stayed two nights at this hotel. It is your typical city hotel. Clean and comfortable; nothing out of the ordinary. The staff seemed friendly and helpful, however they had my name wrong and had me down from the wrong country. It is convenient to the westbanhof rail station. There are quite a few shops and places to eat near...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and while the room itself was okay, staff were shocking in many aspects. - We were given no help during check-in, we were given our key and that was that - Our mini bar was broken (after buying 15 Euro worth of food) we woke to HOT food! After speaking to front...

We' stayed in this hotel in 2010 July. Staff were friendly and very helpful, most were fluent in english. Great breakfast, with lots of options! Rooms were very clean and fairly spacious for europe. It is really close to the subway/underground, so was easy to get about and the hotel provided everyone with a free travel voucher which was great....

This hotel was closely situated to the station and this was a plus. However, the rooms were not air-conditioned and I found this to be unacceptable. I needed a place to relax after a day out and I could not because there was no AC. The fan was too small and inadequate. I asked for another fan, however they said...

We stayed in the Intercity hotel in Vienna at the beginning of July. The hotel is situated on Mariahilferstrasse, the famous shopping street in Vienna. It was close to the underground station which was very convenient. At the arrival we got a free 24-hour travel pass for underground, tram and bus. The underground system is very good and you can...

This hotel was appropriatefor us as we were travelling with Eurail. It is a few minutes walk from Westbahnof and accessible to other public transport. We have stayed at Inter City Hotels in Germany as they are "rail friendly" and have not had any problems. Included in the tariff is a public transport pass for the length of your stay...

The main reason for choosing this hotel is location. Less than 5 minutes to the West Railway Station (West Bahnhof) on foot, where you can also find the airport bus terminus (the journey to the airport takes about 45 minutes). The metro station is very near too (the nearest exit is on Mariahilfer Street), and you can get to St....

We just came back from Vienna, after spending 6 nights at Intercity Hotel. The location is everything, it is very close to Westbahnhof and to the most important U-bahn lines of the city. But not everything is perfect. In a weeks' time, they never changed our bed clothes, nor our towels (and they were all white). The room is big...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
