The 4-star Hotel Josefshof am Rathaus is located in a quiet side street in the charming „Josefstadt“ district and impresses with its imperial flair and Viennese charm. The hotel is in the city center and within a few minutes walking distance from Vienna's most famous sights: Vienna City Hall, Vienna Imperial Palace, the museum district and the shopping street Mariahilferstraße. Our rooms are equipped with modern facilities and bookable different interior styles: While our main building presents a touch of imperial Vienna, our art nouveau building stages a loving homage to the great artists of this time and their most famous motifs. Wi-Fi is available free of charge in the entire hotel. A rich breakfast buffet is served every day between 07:00 and 12:00 and includes a selection of coffee and tea specialties, homemade cakes and pastries, fresh fruit and juices. Our hotelbar is open around the clock and offers hot and cold drinks, fine Austrian wines, classic drinks and small snacks

Wonderful hotel in a really quiet parr of town just off the main road. BeAutifully decor and Clean. Room could’ve been a bit bigger for the 2 of us but cant complain about the room. Bed was OUTSTANDING best ever, would recommend quiet toilet seats, as the original ones are heavy and noisy. Also no shower mat was supplied and both myself and hubby almost slipped in the shower which by the way was amazing!! Towels a bit small but lovely coffee machine and fridge with fresh water every day. No biscuits or English tea but tes can be taken at breakfast. Can Also bring food to your room which is good

The hotel is an old building which is giving a feeling of Vienna's opulence and history at a reasonable price .The location is really fantastic- in the city center near mail square, perfect for Xmas markets and only a few meters from the underground and tram. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, fresh pastries, eggs, successes, cheese, ham, vegetables, breads, fresh juices and much more! Our room was very big, bright and warm with a really comfy bed. There is also a kettle and coffee machine in the room. The bathroom is luxurious with a large shower. Unfortunately there are no toiletries except some very ordinary liquid wash. For a shower cap or other things you must go down to the reception which is inconvenient. This was bit disappointing for a four-star hotel, but everything else was close to perfect.

The hotel is located in a quiet street in Rathaus, We arrived by private transfer and were on arrival, immediately met by some lovely happy smiling staff on reception.
All checked in very quickly and shown to our room on the 5th floor, a very cosy room, not large, but very comfortable, with sky light roof windows and electric blinds, which shut out all light.
The bathroom and walk in shower were excellent. the room had a Safe (free) and fridge (free) in the room with water each day.
As it was our anniversary the cleaning staff had left a beautiful array of fresh flowers, and towels (in the sharp of a heart) on the bed very much appreciated, they also had a bottle of sparkling white wine in a ice bucket, which was was very nice, but expensive for what it was.
The hotel was immaculately clean, everywhere, the rooms reception, breakfast room and all areas were spotless.
The hotel is small and personal. it is in a great location trams just around the corner will take you to ny part of the city.
The hotel is located in the museum district, and in ten minutes you were able to walk into the city, or join the hop on hop off bus the bus stop is only five minutes walk away.
There are many restaurants very close to the hotel, and those that were recommended by the staff in the hotel were not only very close nearby, they were all first class, we eat in one restaurant twice, again due the helpfulness of the reception staff.
Breakfast each morning was taken the dining room, with a garden area outside, if you wanted, this area is very pleasant.
The breakfast food was simply superb, all fresh each day, with an array of meats, cheeses, cakes, eggs, fresh juice, bacon sausages and lost more, it was excellently presented, and again the staff in the restaurant, were fabulous, a real joy to be in their company, and to watch their efficiency each day, when cleaning each table after each course taken by residents, they move around skillfully, quietly whilst engaging with many customers.
We as couple absolutely enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would certainly return and stay again.
I would lIke to mention Laura on reception who was very, simply fabulous, efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and always found time to chat to us and provide all the answers to our many questions on Vienna and infrastructure,
Thank you all for a lovely five night holiday in a lovely hotel in fabulous city.

Although not in the very heart of the city, it was an easy walk to some of the local sites, palaces and museums. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated in a quiet street. All the members of staff we met were welcoming, exceptionally polite and professional. Nothing was took much trouble. The room was beautifully decorated and set out, clean and with various ameneties. Bed very comfortable.
The seating area in a beautiful courtyard was an ideal place to have a quiet drink.
All in all a perfect stay. The staff spoke German and English without a problem that we know of. Although the check - in and out was not contactless, distancing is well maintained and as you check in to sign the registration form you are provided with a sealed pen which is then yours to keep. No individual toiletries are provided but liquid soap was plentiful. There are garaging facilities. We used Airport Driver Taxis which booked in advance and cost us 34 euros each way.

A lovely hotel in a lovely city. Location is perfect for keen walkers everything is within distance. For the not so, train station on the doorstep. Breakfast was lovely huge variety although the pattern seemed a bit obvious. Sausages were just grilled one day the next in a sauce the next they were grilled the next in a .....sauce. would never think they were the left overs. Our room was huge comfy beds and lots of space. The bits that grated on me were the internet in the room was poor. Had to keep connecting every few minutes and it didnt work then either. Eventually asked a member of staff and her reply was thats a good question! No answer in this day and age. Room service come knocking 9am. If you dont answer in like 5seconds they come in. This happened twice to us. They encourage you to put a sign outside the door asking for NO room.service prize? Two drinks.at the bar. Coffee and tea at a premium fpund ourselves begging slightly for extra coffee tea in the room. Ran out of English tea at breakfast. Had none till the next day. All in all good hotel. Few things would make it great. Highly recommended though

I really liked the hotel except for a small issue we had with the room.
We had a classic room booked, and at check in the receptionist tells us that the room is not renovated (which we knew) and that it is a very small room and we can upgrade to a renovated room for an additional cost. We declined. We get to the room and there is only a small fold out bed, definitely not a double bed, slightly larger than twin. Go back down and tell her that we booked a classic room for 2 adults not a single. She is trying to convince me that that is a double room and that that is the last one they have so i have to pay extra to upgrade to a renovated room. After arguing for a while and opening up the reservation and showing her pictures of what we booked( i am working in the travel industry for over 10 years and i know the business like the back of my hand so i really get frustrated when they try to rip you off and i can tell) she takes about 10 minutes and miraculously finds another available classic room. She basically tried to get me to upgrade so that i pay more because as it seems there were other rooms available. Made me mad.
Other than that, the hotel is really nice, rooms are nice and clean, location is excellent. Didn't try the breakfast because i was mad over the check in issue but i did order room service one night and it was quite good.
I would recommend it but they need to do a bit better with the hospitality. If you don't think the room is fit for guests upgrade them for free

Dear Guest Thank you for taking your time and commenting your stay at our hotel. I'm pleased that that your overall experience was positive and would like to apologize for the negative impression you had regarding the originally booked room. Our category "Viennese classic" is furnished with french style beds which are actually designed for two persons but of a smaller mesure than regular double beds. Hence this room type might be unconfortable for longer stays if occupied by 2 persons. Currently there's rennovations to modernize some rooms going on at our hotel, thus we have many rooms closed for sale which are located close to the works. That's the reason why the colleague had some difficulties finding free rooms, it was not on purpose. Anyway we're glad that you've enjoyed your stay at our hotel and hope to host you again next time you are in Vienna!

I came during the Holiday season and the rates for room were seasonally adjusted. I also had to switch rooms twice, but each time to a nicer one. Staff was uniformly helpful and accommodating with assistance provided on switching rooms. Always clean, nice quiet location. Excellent breakfast facility.

We stayed here as a family for a few days before Christmas. It was a perfect place for exploring Vienna. Everything that we wanted to see an do was within easy walking distance - teh museums, teh opera house, teh Christmas markets, restaurants etc.
The hote staff were really friendly and helpful
The hotel is large with lots of interesting lobbies and waiting areas
The bedroom we had was on two tiers which worked perfectly for us, the mezzanine floor acted as an office nad bedroom that our daughter had and we were on the floor below
The room was large, comfortable and clean. Good wi fi and access to all other amenities

Ever since our first stay in this hotel a couple of years ago, we always come back to it whenever we are in Vienna. The rooms are very nice, well-equipped and a good size, with the most comfortable bed and bedding I have ever experienced in hotels. A good night’s sleep is definitely guaranteed! The hotel staff is extremely helpful and attentive, they create a great atmosphere and make sure you have everything you need, and more. They welcome us back every year and make us feel special. The location is also perfect, especially if you are there during the Christmas season as the main Christmas market is only a few minute walk away, but it is within walking distance from most sightseeing places. The area also has some great restaurants and shops, and is safe and quiet. We will definitely continue our stays in this hotel and would recommend it to everyone visiting Vienna and wishing to have a pleasant experience!

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Josefshof we knew we’d made a very good choice. The location for exploring Vienna is superb. Everything within a nice leisurely walk and if exploring this fabulous city further transport links were nearby.
The hotel itself is lovely with a mix of modern and Venetian decor it was elegant and felt boutique. Our room was beautiful and clean with everything you need for a weekend break including a very comfortable bed.
What really made our stay memorable was their amazing staff. The lovely Shelly greeted us on our late arrival and instantly made us feel welcome. She provided us with all the information we needed to make the most of our 3 day stay. The hotel’s breakfast on Shelly’s recommendation was excellent and Enamul looked after his bar area attentively, nothing was too much including tasty bar snacks.
Finally when we checked out, Anna was just wonderful. We simply didn’t want to leave and plan to return soon. Special mention to Vivian for achieving such high standards and creating an environment where employees are happy which ultimately gives guests a pleasurable experience.

Hi. Yes hotel has a lift.
I would recommend you to use google maps and it will show you the best way exactly your arrival. We have decided to go on foot and enjoy Viena but it’s approximately 30 mins and you have to use map for sure. It seems the underground is the fastest way to get there line U1-> U2 and walk 3mins. Anyway, make the way by online map in advance.
