This is pretty well my idea of an ideal city-centre hotel: friendly, efficient staff; spotlessly clean, modern room; excellent buffet breakfast in a beautifully decorated dinning room; very good wifi connection in my room; and above all the perfect location in the city centre, directly opposite one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Europe.

Clean and exactly what you need when travelling. Clean nice room, bath could be bigger but suffice. Good breakfast and coffee shop. Front desk real helpful and the breakfast selection was above average

For once I had to chance my habits in Vienna and choose another hotel than the usual one, and I must say it was not so bad! Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast could be better but it is not so bad. The location is fantastic and you are in the heart of the city. No air conditioning or view...

From the minute you walk in, the staff is friendly and helpful. Our room, 518, was right off a stairway, and large. We had booked a double room with a view, but I believe we were upgraded to a larger room, no view. That suited us. (Actually I am trying to figure out how this hotel has ANY views, really...)...

Hotel Wandl provides good value for money. The rooms were spacious enough for two people. The bathroom was relatively small, but very clean. The only minus I could find was that the room in itself was very, very dusty, apparently it had not been used for a while. The two windows in the room looked on to a blank wall,...

As all have said this hotel is in a brilliant location. My initial thought on opening the door to #514 was hmm tiny room. But as I looked around and after I'd stayed 2 nights it became the perfect room. Everything was there I needed, a good sized desk area for working, a superb shower and really comfy bed and...

Lovely older hotel in the heart of the tourist area of Vienna. Great location, fabulous staff, beautiful common areas. The staff went out of their way to help us with everything, they even contacted the rail system to verify how our train from Salzburg to Munich would be impacted by the refugee migration, which helped us to plan for the...

Wandl is brilliantly located right in the center of the inner city, behind the Peter's Church. This means that visitors can visit a very large number of Vienna's sights by foot, even when Vienna's public transport system is one of the best in the world. The hotel itself has an excellent staff, and a breakfast buffet with a wide selection...

Hotel Wandl is centrally located a minute from St. Stephens Cathedral. The service was excellent. Breakfast was good. Exactly what we expected based on reviews. Met and exceeded our expectations. Strongly recommend.

This centrally located hotel is in a perfect spot. As a lone traveller, it was at th eupper end of what I'd pay - and it only had a single bed - but the small space was so well used you'll spend your time marvelling at the space-saving design to care too much! The rooms are cleaned immaculately (the liquid...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
