We loved this hotel because it was v central and clean and the staff were v friendly. Also the room we were in had everything we needed and was comfortable. It was in a beautiful building and some of the rooms were around a central courtyard. We also loved the glass lift. Our only criticism is that there was quite...

Plusses : v centrally located in Graben, great breakfast choice and polite personnel and Wifi does work ! Minusses: Public areas leading to room very run down, also room furnishings would be taking the 'old charm' tag a bit too far; fridge in room although connected never work; stand fan acted as AC in temp of +30 C doesn't do...

We were very happy with this hotel. You cannot beat the price for the location. The staff was very helpful and we had a very large room for three. The breakfast was perfectly fine. Sure, the carpets are old and the bathrooms are a little worn. To those reviewers who complained about these things... that's why the place costs about...

What a way to stay in Vienna for the first time! Lofty, spaciousness and more than a whiff of what made Vienna a magnificent imperial city. No two rooms are identical and they supposedly range from small to gargantuan. We had the later kind. Huge! Breakfast fine, inner courtyard tremendously charming. Everything is within walking distance, parking a 10 minute...

I had a single room in this hotel and it was very small and dark, which was a real shame. It is a hotel with some character in a really good location, you can walk to st Stephens cathedral within a few minutes and in the other direction its only a 3 minute walk and you are at the palace/museum/Spanish...

We were pleased with the room - good size, clean, comfortable bed; and the breakfast buffet was reasonable. However, on the second evening, on return from our day out, I discovered that my rather expensive perfume was missing from the room, and reported this straight away. The receptionist was sympathetic but said that it would need to be dealt with...

Honestly speaking, when i searched through the net, i imagined some place much better, because the pictures of this old pension were really beautiful, therefore, i felt a little disappointed during my stay. The rooms were smaller, the furniture not as good and the breakfast was poorer than i thought. However, the hotel is not a bad hotel, it is...

Great location in the centre of Vienna, good breakfast and most of the staff very helpful. Being a very old building there is no air conditioning (only in reception for the receptionist), when we stayed in early July the temperatures in Vienna were 35 C, +or - a couple of degrees, they did give us a room that was not...

This is one of the oldest pensiones in Vienna. The best thing about it is the position Right in the centre of the Old Town and you can walk to all the museums and places of interest. Breakfast was wonderful and plenty of it Fresh fruits yoghurts assorted pastries eggs etc etc. Rooms slightly small. Furniture was slightly jaded but...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
