The location of this hotel is absolutely ideal. However, do not expect warm customer service or friendly staff. We were greatly disappointed in the lack of customer service. The front desk personnel were not at all friendly when we asked for help booking a tour. However, we were grateful for the terrific location. The hotel is old and the floors...

We chose the Pension Pertschy for its location, its character and its price. We had a fabulous 6 days there in late December/early January 2011 ; great, quiet location yet so close to everything. It was even quiet inside on New Year's Eve despite being so central. It has so much character being built in an old palace and around...

I chose this hotel from the ratings that I read on Trip Advisor. The location was awesome and the price was great. The workers were very friendly, breakfast was included, you get your average European breakfast which is bread with meats, cheeses and fruits. My only complaint was it was kind of hidden and the bathroom shower was kind of...

There was construction going on, with scaffolding and a crane out front, but we've found that most European cities are always in some phase of construction so it wasn't disconcerting to us. The hotel is reached from an interior courtyard, using either stairs or an elevator. The hotel's reception and its rooms are reached from a narrow wooden walkway running...

We stayed at Pertschy Pension for 3 non-consecutive nights in August of 2010. Before we arrived, we received a cheerful and laconic e-mail from the Pension informing us that they were replacing their old elevator. Upon our arrival, however, we realized that the whole roof and the front of the building were covered with the scaffolding. There was also a...

We had received an email prior to our departure saying that the hotel's lift was being repaired but that this should cause little inconvenience. In fact, the hotel is in full construction mode during our stay with jack hammers, drills etc. starting up at 5:53AM and continuing all day...The door to our initial rool fell off its hinges requiring a...

I stayed in Pension Pertschy last October for 1 night with two of my daughters (12 and 8). Vienna is a fabulous city and Pertschy is situated right in the heart of it. The hotel is located between the Hofburg palace and St Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom); the location couldn't be better really. The hotel was very reasonably priced considering the...

The hotel is in the middle of a construction site which they do not tell you about when booking. The lift is being reconstructed also, they did tell us about this. Fabulous location but very shabby , smelly rooms. Not good to go in the summer as the rooms are extremely hot as are the breakfast and reception rooms and...

The location of this hotel could not be better with most of the main sights within a few minutes walk and the underground just around the corner. The hotel is in a quiet side street and is at present undergoing extensive renovation which means that the outside is covered in scaffolding. As we were out during the day, the construction...

My 26 year old daughter, my wife and I stayed in this delightful privately owned hotel for 3 nights. It was recommended in " Time Out" for Vienna guide. The hotel is located in the old part of Vienna close to St Stephens Dom and the Habsburg palace in a quiet small street. The building dates back to the 1700s...

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
