Good positioned hotel easy to get to all one wants to see in Vienna. Very helpful staff and a great breakfast. Problem with room we received a big room but it was very noisy from street traffic so we were moved to a tiny room with a very old fashioned bathroom. A bit disappointing.

We stayed at the Zipser Hotel in December 2016. Our main intention to visit the Vienna Christmas Markets. The Zipser is a 3 * hotel but quite frankly deserves higher. Our room, breakfast and service were of the highest standard and the hotel location was perfect for everything that Vienna had to offer.

I like a free tea/coffeeб, safe and other facilities in the room, good breakfast and kind staff, including free punsch as compliment for the Christmas time. Single room is rather small, but good equipped. On the other hand the room could be more clean. And in the evening you can hear the talks of neighbors behind the wall. Lobby is...

That was not our first time here. We were impressed with the the place when we stayed there in summer 2014. We had the same room as we had last time and to my surprise it was renovated and became very modern. Besides, a huge bathroom with both a bath and a shower as well as a double sink, really...

Hotel is perfect located, very close to old city center and metro station. We had basic standard room, even is old dated and very hot, is spacious and very quiet, with comfortable bed, coffee tea making facilities, no fridge. Breakfast buffet very tasty with plenty of choices. Friendly and helpful staff, we will definitely come back.

Spent 4 nights there for a business trip. My room was quite outdated, with very old curtains and carpet, as well as there was an actual metal key for the door, not a key card like almost everywhere else nowadays. The room was OK for a single room, quite a big bathroom with a shower, the bed was comfy and...

A very reasonable 3-star hotel with 4-star rooms. Well appointed, excellent, modern bathrooms. Helpful staff, a moderately priced garage near-bye AND, most important: a great location. Only a short walk to the center of town, lots of restaurants in the vicinity. We will come back.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.

“Executive Suites are the only ones with air conditioning. Rooms with private and shared balconies stay cool in hot weather.”
  • The staff at the Hotel Zipser had a good sense of humour about my inflatable moose head
  • The balcony is a great spot to relax after a day or working in or exploring Vienna
  • The Hotel Zipser is close to the Miles' Smiles jazz club, so this is a tribute to the neighbours
  • One of the newly renovated rooms, with beautiful hardwood floors and private balcony
