I spent a great couple of nights in this hotel/guesthouse. Check in was friendly and efficient and they were nice enough to let me in the room an hour early which was great after 30 hours without sleep coming from Sydney. The room was spacious...More
First, this is not my first time staying here, so you can expect that my previous stay is at least satisfied. The location of pension is nice, you can reach it by tram 2 or U2 at Rathus stop. There are three supermarkets (one is...More
The room had everything I needed and was mostly comfortable. The bathroom was almost right across the hall from my room, so although I didn't have my own, it was very accessible and there was never anyone in it when I wanted to use my...More
The hotel is centrally located and most landmarks and museums were within a 15 minute walk. There is a supermarket next door which came in handy because no breakfast was provided. The room, though small, was very nice and included a lovely sink and shower....More
Great location, friendly staff, good value for money. Only bad thing to say would be poor WiFi connection in the 3rd floor. 3 supermarkets around the corner. Overall great place to spend a long weekend with family or friends.

The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of
overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
