Don’t expect a 4 or 5 star luxury hotel, but expect a really nice hotel with pretty decent service. The location is excellent to anywhere you want to go, either walking, by bus (including hop-on-hop-off buses), or by underground. The hotel has a great little...More
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room had comfortable beds and linen spotless, as was the shower room with Instant hot water. An excellent location, the tube and trains were easy to use and also very clean. Lots to see, so many...More
Found Hotel Alpha Wein quite easily. Train from airport then underground a couple of stops. Situated very near to Rathaus station, couple of roads back but very short walk.
Lovely welcoming hotel with the smell of coffee as soon as you enter the reception area....More
The need to be refurbished is obviously reflected in the pricing of the rooms. It is very clean, and all the positives in the other reviews are for real.

Myself and my partner stayed at Hotel Alpha for 3 nights. Room was nice if a bit small but essentially was clean and if you are only on a City break it serves the purpose perfectly. The Hotel itself was very nice and staff were...More

The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of
overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
