We stayed in Vienna for two nights before going on a river cruise on the Danube, Main and Rhine Rivers for two weeks. When we flew in, we were helped at the Tourist office at the airport and they directed us to a train that went into city center. We headed for Wien Prater Stern station. Once there we asked...

We can't recommend this Hotel more highly. Easy to get to, friendly staff, lovely well appointed quiet room overlooking the breakfast area; we couldn't ask for more. The breakfast is perfect for our needs. The hotel has a nice bar/lounge which is perfect for a quiet drink after a long day of sightseeing.

We stayed here on a brief overnighter in Vienna. The location was really convenient as only a few minutes walk from the train station. We arrived at 3pm and had to leave the next morning by 9 am to meet friends at the airport. The reception staff were very helpful and provided us with a map so we could walk...

I have stayed here twice and will stay again on my next trip. I cant fault this hotel. It is homely but smart and well appointed. Breakfast is great and the staff are excellent. It is well located for the city sights and convenient to the airport train at praterstern - just a short walk away.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
