We stayed here for one night at the end of 4 weeks in Europe. This place is unpretentious, stylish and neatly located in the Prater area very close to the station. Service is great, the room was clean and well set out (actually had a decent shower which made for a pleasant surprise) and best of all a very good... More

The Prater area is a little run down, but hosts the iconic Reisenrad Big Wheel (The Third Man etc) around five minutes walk from the hotel - Praterstern station is in between with S-Bahn services direct to the airport, and U-Bahn, tram and bus routes across the city. Rooms are comfortable, and available at different categories - but even the... More

We stayed her for 3 nights whilst visiting the Christmas Markets in Vienna. It is situated very conveniently for transport links to the airport and the metro system. The staff are very very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a good size and the furnishings are traditional and well maintain. We found breakfast to be very good . The bar was a... More

Excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient for Vienna fun fair, metro into the centre and various attractions. Also close to the river for trips down the Danube. Went to Bratislava for the day. Only comment bathroom a little on the small side. Good breakfast buffet.

The staff at the hotel are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Although we would have preferred a double quilt instead of two singles but the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was buffet and continental and all four of us really enjoyed it. We all found plenty to eat and the food was... More

We spent a week end in Vienna, as a family of 4. This hotel is proposing very convenient 4 bed rooms : actually, it's designed as 2 rooms, not very big but definitely very quiet. The price is attractive. The hotel itself is a few minutes walk fron the subway (UBahn 1) to the city center, and a few more... More

The 2 days we stayed at this hotel, marked the end of our vacation in Austria and Bavaria, so rather than try to navigate Vienna in a rental car, we turned in our car at the airport, and took a cab. The fare both ways was 39 euros. The hotel is in a great location, about a football fleid away... More

Stayed two nights in October. Room is not very spacious but comfortable. Customer service is mostly OK. Location is just steps from subway or about 30-35 minutes walking to Opera and Museums area. Breakfast is typical for Austria. Overall nice hotel, recommended. If you coming with car, make sure to get map for approaching parking in advance as it was... More

We stayed in Wien ( Vienna ) for 2 x 10day stays in March. It is a 'classic' hotel not just in name. The ambience and decor is ' period'. It is very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was enjoyable. The staff were ever obliging, nothing was too much trouble. We went elsewhere for a week and they kept our... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
