We recently stayed 2 nights and were delighted with our choice. We arrived by train from Budapest and changed at the Meidling station (bought a 24 hr group ticket from the machine) and then took the S Bahn to arrive at Prater station and from here the hotel is only a few minutes walk. This was easier than changing metro...

This hotel was clean and nicely decorated and the location is good, but the temperature in our room was turned up just way too high, even for a snowy December day in Vienna, and no amount of fiddling with the temperature controls helped. Also, whether through ignorance or laziness, one of the desk clerks gave us some wrong information that...

Dear Mrs. Monica, thanks so much for your review. I am sorry that you had difficulties with the heating and I kindly ask you to provide us with your roomnumber. Did you inform us during your stay about that siutation? I could not find anything on our maintenance list. Most certainly our team would have checked immediately if something was...

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The classic double rooms were very small but had everything you needed and clean. You need to ask at reception for a kettle etc as none in rooms. The breakfast was excellent and especially News Years Day with glasses of bubbly. Nice location and walk into the centre approx 10 to 15...

Excellent location for a first time visit to Vienna as the hotel is located right next to Kartnerstrasse (main shopping street) and close to the Stephansdom Cathedral as well as metro stations. The staff are pleasant, friendly and always willing to help out, even when we asked them to recommend a place for lunch. The rooms are slightly out dated...

This hotel does not pretend anything. It has its own style. One can like it and the other don't. The rooms are big enough, pleasant but a bit out-to-date. The breakfast offered by them is very good. You will have a lot of variety and you do not have to fight for leftovers because you are late. The service is...

When you go for the first time in a country like Vienna, the first step you must do is to find a good spot in the city like a base for your vacations, the Austria Classic Hotel Wien was the right spot. Clean with beautiful and quiet rooms , friendly , very comfortable, with a rich breakfast, very kind personal...

Clean, friendly, comfortable, well priced and serves a good breakfast. The centre of town is only a short ride on the metro. It's very handy for the classic giant Ferris wheel, just around the corner.

We had an enjoyable 4 night stay here. We were in Vienna for the Christmas experience and sight seeing. The hotel was next to good public transport links but it was also possible to walk to the centre of the city. Breakfast was a good continental selection and had excellent coffee (as does all of Vienna). Vienna itself was beautiful...

I had the good fortune to visit the beautiful city of Vienna twice in 2014. For my second trip, there was no doubt as to where I wanted to stay - the Austria Classic Hotel Wien. This stay in December was just as great as in May. Frau Seitz and her wonderful staff are so friendly and helpful; and patient...

This is a comfortable 3-star hotel. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and clean, if a bit worn. As other reviewers mention it is very near the S-Bahn station for the airport and also the U-Bahn to the city centre. The area immediately around the hotel has little to offer, especially for shopping or restaurants....

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
