The Praterstern Station is a half block away. This station has trains, subway, trams and buses. So if you are going somewhere that you need transportation this is the place. And Vienna has a fantastic transportation system. It was a pleasure to use. Now the hotel, has a great staff, they are very welcoming, the staff at breakfast was also... More

Just came back from Vienna. This hotel is a good place to stay - relatively inexpensive, has a free breakfast, parking in a back, clean rooms. They even gave me a present on my birthday, which was very nice of them. The only thing that I would suggest them to improve is a glass screen in a bath tub -... More

This is a very classic nice hotel on the edges of the main city. It is very close to the train station. It is walking distance to pretty much the whole city. It is very close to the Farris Wheel. Parking is available behind the hotel for a fee. The breakfast was very nice. The staff was also quite helpful.

We stayed here for two nights. It was very close to the subway. Just a few stops to a beautiful shopping area where we heard a great street band. The desk staff were very helpful and called the driver for our tour. The breakfast was nice with the usual foods and a large dining area. The room was clean and... More

This hotel is a 5 minute metro ride from the historic center. The walk to the metro is just a couple of blocks. The rooms are roomy for Europe. No specific frills but all the necessary amenities. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the front staff. The buffet breakfast offers many selections of pastries, meats, cheeses, yogurt, and... More

This is a lovely hotel and I would have given it five stars except for the location. It is a bit of a walk to olde towne, which is what we were there to visit. I booked it because it is near a train station (the Praterstern), but that station turned out to not be the one we were using... More

I thought this hotel was very good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. the complimentary breakfast was excellent. It seemed to be in a good part of town with shops and restaurants close by. Very Good.

A spacious room, generous breakfast and excellent service. These and various other amenities made our stay at the Austria Classic Hotel Wien a most pleasurable one! We were welcomed warmly by Christoph and given a nice orientation to the hotel and other relevant information. The staff was most helpful during our entire stay. Classic Hotel Wien is a decent hotel. But it is not elegant or particularly special. In my view, the Trip Advisor ratings for it are a bit overstated. The good things include helpful, attentive service at that desk and great, secured parking at the back. The hotel is also clean and quiet (though our room backed into the parking area... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
