We stayed for two nights at Der Wilhelmshof. It was easy to find and located not far from the metro station, 10-15 minutes from the main square. We bought a 48 hour tube ticket so had unlimited travel. We walked to Eatalien which was 5-10 min walk on the Monday evening, which was busy and fast service, with huge pizzas,...

We have just returned from a week exploring Vienna. We stayed in Der Wilhelmshof having booked through Amoma.com. We caught a train from Vienna airport to Praterstern and the hotel was just a short walk from there. We also bought a 7 day travel pass for 16 euros each. This allowed us to travel on trains, trams or buses any...

Booked this hotel after looking at some of the reviews on Trip Advisor and was really pleased with our stay. About 5 mins walk to the nearest underground. Nice and quiet on a night time. Lovely bathrooms, although the shower did leak a little - not really a problem. Breakfast was brilliant. Staff really helpful and cheerful. Great stay. Definitely...

We stayed here as a couple as part of a package city break for 4 nights in Feb 2017. Excellent location, just 2 minutes from Praterstern Station which connects directly with the airport via the S7. The U1 will take you into the heart of Vienna in minutes, catch it from Praterstern, or from Nestroyplatz merely a 5 minute walk...

Been to Vienna the first time for conference (my wife and I). This hotel has the following advantages: - Great location: located a few minutes walk from Praterstern station - this station has connections via U1 subway to city center/Stephansplatz and has connections via direct regional train (S7 express) to airport - makes it ideal for business and leisure. Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
