Booked the hotel through Hyatt. I don’t think we were upgraded. Room didn’t look anything like the photos on their website or tripadvisor. Artwork in the room was two small photos dwarfed by the large wall. Little things kind of annoying at this price point - Small shower area with mold on the ceiling and water damage on the wall. Hair dryer with power cord ripped open and cables sticking out. No water kettle in the room, had to ask for one. Tv remote did not work. Positives - nice location, nice atmosphere at 4pm tea time. Excellent breakfast. Front desk staff very enthusiastic and positive. The 4pm tea time has great potential. If they only expanded it to the rooms, leave tea kettles in the rooms and selection of loose teas, that would be amazing. Are we going to come back - probably not. Can get more authentic better quality place in this area on airbnb and spend the other half the of the room rate on a good night out.…
The hotel is a boutique hotel. Very helpful staff, clean and beautiful salon area. My room was spacious. My only problem was that to reach the room had to go through so many corridors and closed doors. That made me nervous as i travel alone. Probably is because of the kind of building that has also homes and offices. Also the reception is at first floor and not in the entrance of the buliding.
It is the perfect hotel for a city break. Excellent staff, super breakfast on white linen (included), great afternoon cake (Included) high calibre furnishings, quiet street and great advice on where to go. The staff love their hotel and so proud of the city. It was like being with family.
This hotel is outstanding, everything was great! The staff very nice and helpful, the design, comfort and rooms was beautiful. The location very good, close to everything. The room very quiet. I could not thing of a better hotel.
Hotel Aldstadt is charming. Lovely, (a little) less-touristed Neubau location and original, well-executed decor. Six months later, I still dream about the breakfast offerings and service and lovely view.
Cosy boutique hotel, that makes you feel at home. My suite was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The reception was five stars and very friendly. Breakfast had all the required ingredients and the staff was also fantastic. Recommend it without any shade of a doubt and will definitely come back again in the future.
Great homely address to stay. Maybe less suitable for children, but otherwise exceptional. Good location within walking distance from city’s attractions. Stylish and well fitted rooms. Great breakfast.
From the very first second when Carl, on reception, greeted us with a warm smile and the offer of a glass of bubbly we knew we had arrived somewhere special. I’m just going to say it; This is the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Why? The amazing art in every wall? The style and class of the rooms? The position right in the museum quarter where everything is so easy to get to? The amazing local restaurants? The fabulous breakfast buffet? Yes, all of that but most of all because the people running this hotel, every single person, is lovely, they just want you to have a brilliant time. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything is handled with humour and a ‘can do’ attitude. It gives the whole place a lightness and happiness that infects the guests. It’s subtle but it’s a feeling of belonging. If you’re thinking of Vienna and you love quirky, happy and honest this is the place for you.…
This was my return visit. The hotel is well situated near the Museum Quarter and Volktheater Underground Station. Well located for the Hofburg and the Ringstasser with its superb public transport system. The reception staff are the very best and very helpful - and give you a warm welcome. Breakfasts are excellent and the waiting on staff are friendly Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms make this the finest boutique hotel in Vienna. I am now planning my return visit..
The substancially-inflated rating on TripAdvisor paints a deceptively-better image than the hotel actually deserves. The hotel is between 2- and 3-star, feel like a cheap hostel, with much pretenciousness and unjust ambition for 4-5 star, undeservingly. We changed the hotel after 2 nights and moved to a real 4-star hotel in Vienna, that was uncomparably better.
