The place is a few minutes walk from the inner ring, in a funky neighborhood with a number of restaurants and bars within a stone's throw. It's an ornate building with a lot of classical touches -- high ceilings, chandeliers, winding hallways. The rooms are all very different and pretty quirky. I'm familiar with open kitchens, but I was surprised...

An amazing boutique hotel not far from the Museumquartier in Vienna ,i.e. about 5 minutes walk this lovely area which includes the nearest subway station. It's not a dense shopping area but there are a few useful stores nearby and plenty of restaurants around, which is great. The room ("White Suite") was great. It was very spacious and white :)...

It was our first time in Vienna and Altstadt Hotel was a perfect welcome for us. Very stylish, yet homey comfort in an excellent location. We were also treated to a wonderful breakfast spread and freshly baked pastries at tea-time. When in Vienna stay at Altstadt!

The hotel is part of the UK brand Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) which I like because of it`s small, friendly and usually family run hotels. The hotel is like your own personal residences in Vienna in a location just by Volkstheater. The location is 12 minutes walk to Rathausplatz and 16-18 minute to the local high street shopping area. There...

The best thing about this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was extremely accommodating and amiable, especially the front desk crew. Our room was a bit small for three people, but it worked out OK in the end as we were not there much. Breakfast was top rate, with a wide selection of breakfast foods. We loved the...

Most of the reviewers wrote very good comments about the hotel. Because of this did I expect something more? I don't know. As you enter the building, you find yourself in an apartment entry. To find the reception which is behind a door, you have to use the lift or stairs to upper floor. Then you go upper floor and...

Having never stayed in a boutique hotel I was unsure what to expect. We found the hotel a little difficult to find at first but once we got the lay of the land it was simples. We checked in early and our room was ready. I was a little disappointed with the room it was a little bit more colourful...

I recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on business. This small hotel is a unique, one off type hotel which is slightly off the beaten track in a very artistic area of Vienna. The rooms are all different, in size and style, but I received a wonderful large room with a beautiful view over an old church. The...

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins.
