We stayed at the hotel 3 nights, it's a clean and comfortable hotel, good and fresh breakfast, super nice and helpful stuff. The place is close to the city centre, easy to find it and yet in a quit place. The only insufficient thing, every day after we left our room, we placed the card for cleaning our room and...

Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend the Korotan. It was reasonably well located-- about a 15-20 minute walk from the city center or a short tram ride. In our room, the beds were not comfortable and the bathroom was unpleasant, and these are the two most important things in a hotel for me. The shower had a curtain rather than a glass...

I enjoyed my stay at the Korotan Hotel. The location is convenient. About 10-15 minutes walk to city centre, 5 minutes walk to the closest underground station. The area is quiet. My room was small but very clean and comfortable.Good selection of breakfast food. Friendly and helpful service. Much recommended,

It is not really a hotel. There are only a few rooms in a building whith student dormitory. The clerks at the reception are totally unqualified. We made a reservation for 4 rooms and 2 parcking spaces. We asked for confirmation a week before our arrival and we received an answer. Yet, the day of our arrival we received 4...

It’s very good value and the location is not that bad. I had to use Hauptbahnhof, Westbahnhof and the Erdberg international bus station so not one single neighborhood would have been convenient enough for all my commuting. Vienna is a big city. But the neighborhood turned out to be very quiet, with exquisite architecture, and one to three blocks from...

I needed a hotel in Vienna that was inexpensive yet close to the center and found an excellent one in Hotel Korotan. This is a hotel with some Slovenian influence and it is very comfortable. The most notable aspect of it is the friendly staff. Everyone I interacted with was helpful and had a smile on their face. The rooms...

It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel for a weekend. It's located in one of the best area's in Vienna, just a few minutes walk from Rathaus. The atmosphere (furniture, keys, doors, etc) in the room reminds you 80th's of the XX century. You can probably dream that you are listened by special services. But in the meantime...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
