We really enjoyed our three nights at the Das Tyrol hotel in February 2017. The foyer and common areas are decked out with tasteful contemporary art that offer splashes of color throughout the building. The modern decor is complimented by tasteful contrasts, including a winding marble staircase and old fashioned elevator. The reception staff are very pleasant, fluent in English,...

Much to praise here...excellent, really helpful staff, good location, very good breakfast offering, striking modern decor and comfortable beds. We took advantage of the half-price on sunday night offer (over four nights) and booked a studio room - number 50 - which was a really good size with a good bathroom (no bidet; shower in bath) alongside. Despite facing Mariahilfer...

The hotel was stylish, comfortable and clean with nice, helpful and welcoming staff. Please note that they serve breakfast but do not have a bar or restaurant as it is a small hotel. The hotel is in a very good location for exploring Vienna and is in a lovely district with shops and museums. I would recommend this hotel to...

We went to Vienna for a long weekend and I proposed to my girlfriend whilst there, so it was a special trip. This excellent hotel added to that experience. The superior rooms we stayed in was of a very high standard - excellent decor and spacious. At times you feel like you are the only ones in the hotel since...

My wife and I have just returned from a long weekend in Vienna. We chose this hotel largely due to ratings on Tripadvisor. The small luxury Hotel Das Tyrol is exactly that. It is perfectly located in the Museum Quarter, within easy walking distance of all main museums, the Hofburg area, Graben, Naschmarkt and right to the city centre area...

My wife and I have just returned home after four nights at the Das Tyrol. Lovely welcome from Reception, warm, cosy, bright room. Very clean and well appointed. We make a point in staying at small boutique hotels in the centre of town having been to similar all over Europe. Das Tyrol was as good as it comes. A short...

From the moment we walked in Das Tyrol, we were made to feel nothing but welcomed and comfortable! Melanie the receptionist was wonderful and made sure every part of our stay was enjoyable. She was so helpful in giving directions and recommendations and so friendly! The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the palace buildings (the museums) and...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
