Check-in and check-out were terribly inefficient processes (one person on the desk having to deal with everyone). Otherwise, a very pleasant stay. Large, quiet, comfortable room; and a very good breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Position very convenient for both shopping and site-seeing.

Hotel Das Tyrol is a great find! Our room (50) was very quiet, despite being right along a busy street. The staff are friendly and helpful, the location is perfect. And the buffet breakfasts have everything you could want (including great cafe latte and capaccino). The rooms and halls are decorated in a very artistic way. The sauna/ steam room...

Totally agree with all the top rating reviews. DECOR. One of the hotels highlights is the abundance of quality artwork that adds to the overall quality feel of this small luxury boutique hotel. BRILLIANT FRIENDLY STAFF. Nothing is too much trouble and they were amazingly efficient during both the booking process and our 6 night stay over New Year. PRICING....

My wife and I stayed at the Das Tyrol for three nights and absolutely loved our stay. We had a balcony room on the third floor which was well appointed and a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine and some people watching. The staff at the hotel were all wonderful. They accommodated our every need and were very...

My daughter and I stayed at the Das Tyrol in June 2014 on a trip from Prague to Vienna to Budapest. When we first entered the hotel we thought hmmm, this is really small. When we entered our room we thought, wow, this is even smaller than we expected! Having said that, we had an excellent stay and would recommend...

This hotel delivered all we have come to expect from Small Luxury Hotels group. It is well positioned for walking to the centre of Vienna and is close to 2 underground stations for longer trips. The non-smoking bedroom was clean, quiet, comfortable, large, with minibar, roomsafe, and coffee maker. There was a multi-channel TV and the Wi-Fi was included in...

This is a superb hotel in every respect. The location is fantastic, steps from the Museum Quarter and Ringstrasse. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean, quiet and very reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, courteous and well informed. The included breakfast is superb with an astonishing selection of items and made to order ones, too. One could not do...

I wish I could give a higher rating for this lovely, small hotel in a great location for sightseeing. We never needed to use public transportation to see all of the sights in the inner city. The front desk staff, the cleaning staff, and the man who feeds the fish were all so friendly, and the lady who serves the...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
