This is a great place to stay while visiting Vienna. It is a basic property that is very well maintained, very clean and well located. It is reasonably priced for Vienna and has an excellent breakfast. Unlike others we had no problem with the wi- fi and it worked for 2 devices. The owner is always willing to help and...

This is simple, no frills, inexpensive accommodations, and I'm rating it high based on the value. We had their apartment for three people. Our rooms were old but spacious, clean, and comfortable. The pension is on a quiet side street, and our room looked out over the courtyard, so was nice and quiet. - Located southwest of the city center...

I would love to have given this place an "excellent" rating because it has many things going for it, but there are several shortcomings which didn't bother us much but might be of concern to other travelers. Our double room with en-suite bath was enormous, nicely decorated, with two large comfy beds and a seating area. Included in the price...

Pension Kraml is well located for walking into the old town and joining the tourist throngs. It is also well located to the bus and subway system which is an ideal way to get around Vienna. We enjoyed a large room with separate private bathroom and toilet, all in an old but serviceable style. The big room had two excellent...

Excellent value. About a 20-minute walk from old city center via MariaHilfer Strasser; also 2 U-bahn lines have nearby stops. (Multi-day U-bahn pass is a good idea.) We mainly dealt with Stefan, a member of the family that owns and runs this pension. He is knowledgeable and helpful; speaks excellent English. This pension is managed with efficiency. The breakfasts are...

If you stay in Vienna you've got to try a pension rather than a hotel and this one is perfect. Big clean bright rooms, a hearty breakfast, ideally located. And extremely friendly and professional owners. Will definitely return!

We were a party of three adults and two little girls and it was perfect for us and affordable. We had a family suite of two rooms and had lots of room. It is in a good neighbourhood so plenty of restaurants in the area. Breakfast had lots of choices, the host could not have been more helpful. It was...

We had such a lovely time at Pension Kraml - our three days and nights here were perfect to relax and also explore Vienna. Stephan and staff were friendly and so helpful, the rooms were enormous and the included breakfast had an amazing range of delicious treats (especially the breads and cakes!). Good wifi and great location - easy walk...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
