The room freezing with a bed like a cot. Preposterous. First hint ones in for a struggle; no doorman and a flight of stairs to reception. The staff courteous until I couldn't sleep. The first time in 3 or four DECADES I've asked to be moved the answer NO unless I paid. Try to reason: the answer GOOD. When that's...

Dear guest, thank you for taking the time to share your opinion about our Hotel. We are really surprised about your comments as what you wrote is not the truth. Your checke in was in the afternoon around 3 o clock. You got a Single room, which was the category you booked. Eight hours later you came to the desk...

I stayed here with my partner on a Christmas break to Vienna. We had a really nice room on the 3rd floor and someone helped with our bags to our room. We has a room with a view of the courtyard. The bar could be a bit expensive and dinner always surprised us with how expensive it was but it...

Cozy hotel, with nice gym, average breakfast, a good cafe and well equipped but small rooms. It's located 5 minutes from the Rathaus in a nice part of the city. The wifi is ok. I would suggest it for people that need a nice place to sleep but it's not that convenient for work or stay long in the room.

Very good and friendly service. That is I believe the most important component in every business. Rooms are small but everything you need is there. Clean functional. Reasonable prices. Breakfast was good, place is walking distance from all the key attractions. Prices are very reasonable. The reason that I would be returning customer is because of service. Good Place, Nice People.

The location of the hotel is impeccable - right in front of Rathaus metro station and walking distance from the city centre, only 1km away from the Opera House. I enjoyed the hotel quite a lot, but still I was expecting a bit more from the 5-star boutique hotel. The design is fair, but a bit ordinary. Rooms are nice,...

I can highly recommend this hotel if you plan a trip to visit Vienna especially for the first time. It is located close to the must-see-places and you do not need a taxi or the metro. The hotel itself has a little gym and a very nice and new sauna. Very relaxing after a long day. The staff is very...

When you pay a lot you expect certain amenities and atmosphere. The hotel is well situated near the underground and many great restaurants . The rooms are ok. I didn't expect a glass window between the bathroom and the beds. The blinds there would not close completely making it tough sharing with a friend. There was no coffee or tea...

Rooms are pretty, but beside the room itself nothing else was good. The service of the hotel was awful: when we checked-in they told us that the breakfast was included and they made us sign every morning in order to "check" our presence, at the time of the check out they came out saying that we had to pay 180€...

Dear guest, we want to thank you that you took the time to share your opinion about our Hotel. You booked a room WITHOUT breakfast which defenitely has been confirmed to you at check in. Centrally located, the service was excellent, very polite and helpful staff. Great boutique hotel. Rooms were a bit small, but this was not an issue. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Good breakfast.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
