think this place is somewhat over rated - for these reasons: 1. bar closed on sundays at 10pm - the only hotel i have ever been in where the hotel shut at 9.50pm 2. rooms small - random apple left for us! 3. layout / reception in a daft place nowhere near the entrance 4. no concierge - contributed to...

What a wonderful hotel! This was my first trip to Vienna, and I had read some great reviews of the Lavante Parliament Hotel. I was traveling with my partner and two other couples... and I was put in charge of booking the rooms for the trip. My friends and I decided to set our budget at $200 USD a night,...

The Lavente Parliament Hotel is a new (2006) hotel situated just off the main city ring road just behind the City Hall and Parliament buildings and about 15 minutes stroll to the main city centre via the lovely city parks. The hotel is a little tricky to find if you are vistiting the city for the first time as the...

We stayed for a short break (only two nights) in August, but wish it had been longer. There is no car parking on site but out car was swiftly valet parked (at a cost of 22 Euros a day) and promptly returned to us at the end of our stay. By the time we had finished checking in our bags...

This was a lovely design hotel with chic accents, friendly employees, wonderful breakfast included in the price of the rooms, and all in a great city. A number of people commented on the ideal location. The location was good, but ideal is a bit extreme. It is about a 20 minute walk from the tourist center of the city, e.g....

The Levante Parliament hotel in Vienna is well located just outside the inner ring. It's a 10 minute walk to the Museum Quartier and has two u-bahn stops within a few minutes walk. As other reviews have suggested, the rooms are quite small, however great furnishings and fab rainshowers make up for the lack of square footage. The restaurant food...

My partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a 5 star hotel break in Vienna for 3 nights however we were very disappointed with this hotel. When we arrived outside the hotel the general appearance of it set alarm bells ringing as to the quality of this hotel so we weren't exactly too positive on what to expect from...

Stayed here for just two night in March of this year. The design of the hotel is nice, nice location in Vienna as well. The room was a bit small, and prices on everything (The mini bar) were extremely high but that is all the same in Vienna. Anyway would most likely stay here again..

For a christmas weekend break, you can't beat Vienna. We stayed mid December when the christmas markets were in full swing. The Levante Parliament is very close to the Rathaus (town hall) and the christmas markets at the Rathauspark are definitely the best in Vienna, although our experience during Friday daytime was much more pleasant than on the weekend when...

I chose to stay in Levante Hotel during a short break. My opinion after the two days is a little bit confused. Amazing reception, really warm and fast check in, but room was not what I have expected. Small, really noisy because of the street, if you can choose the internal rooms, looking the terrace. Breakfast was really good and...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
