The view is very nice, bathroom is good, very clean. place is peacefull, a bit far form city center to walk, but the bus stop is infront of the property and drives you directly...

İt was absolutely great. Better than many hotels wich are way more expensive. Clean, quiet, cheap 18€, and you have great breakfast in the morning. Also you have a great view of wien. İt is a little bit far but not that much. The bus stop infront of it .

After staying in four hostels and an AirBnB about 12 times over the years, I rate this one very highly because of the level of service I experienced myself, the cleanliness, security, how things worked, and the great breakfast which would actually cost about 15 Euros at a cafe. Where else can you go back for more withlit an added...

This is the hostel we always pick when we visit Vienna. We found it by accident and now we're glad we did. It's true that the building and rooms have seen better days and that the staff could be a tiny bit friendlier, but for me, the location makes it up for it. This hostel is for those who arrive...

July 21/14 @5pm I've been here under 2 hrs and just to get my laundry done it was a horrible experience. Alexander the person at the front desk was so rude, not only decided to served another guess over me and made me wait in the laundry room for the detergent, when he finally come cause I came to front...

It was a coincidence that I got to know the Palace Hostel, and it has become a place that I come back to again and again. Yes, there is the great garden with the scenic view, the vinyards and palace nearby, the fresh air while it's hot in the city centre. But what makes the Palace Hostel unique are the...

The first noticeable plus is the superb view over the city, but it takes a while to get to the city center as it's located on a hill, next to a lovely hotel. But still, public transport connections are very well planned, and you can take buss every 15 minutes (bus stop is right next to the hotel). Also great...

There were some very good things about this hostel. The location is BEAUTIFUL, it's out of the city, near a pretty nice hotel, and surrounded by residences. If you want to be right close to a U-stop, or walking distance to town, stay somewhere else. This is about 3 Km away from the nearest U-stop (a bus goes right up...

If you are looking for an amazing view and don't want to pay loads of money, this is the best option in Vienna. The hostel is on the top of a nice hill and you can see all the city bellow. The bedrooms are good and they have a nice view too. The staff is nice and the breakfast area...

Hostel Palce, Vienna, is a bit out of hand, but still easily accessible by both public transportation and a car. Bus stop is exactly by the hostel property's entrance and buses go regurarly every 7-10 minutes, even on Sundays. Combining bus and underground, it takes max 25 minutes to the centre (Stephansdom). The hostel is near a bigger, fancier hotel,...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).

“Rooms on the first floor have better views of the city and are recommended if you are travelling with children because the rooms on the ground floor have doors to the garden and the street. However, if you are wit friends/significant other, and would like to lounge and enjoy the evenning outside (especially in the summer), ground-floor rooms might be a better choice.”
