I stayed here for one night whilst visiting my boyfriend who was working in Bergen for a month. We were given a room on the top floor which was pretty cramped and was two single beds pushed together but it had a real quirky feel to it. If you like interesting hotels with a bit of character I would recommend...

We stayed for two nights in a room on the second floor - I can't remember the number but it was about 15 steps from the attached Mexican restaurant. Can't complain when you don't have to walk outside to get Mexican food! 😁 Bed was comfortable - bathtub was AMAZING - included breakfast was great. Coffee machine with lattes, cappuccinos,...

Stayed alone one night in a large suite, room has seen better days, in need of refurb, but bathroom was recently done to a high standard. Ok room, nothing more, bed decent, a bit a wear and tear, windows overlooked a narrow enclosure between two buildings, with a quite loud a/c unit humming away. Expected more from this hotel, had...

We are a family of 3, 2 parents and a 9 month old baby. This februari we ordered a room in The Hanseactic Hotel 2 days before arrival on their own website. We got a confirmation and roomnumber etcetera, we didn't have to leave any creditcard number or so, the website stated we could pay on location. When we arrived...

Stayed here for 4 nights after our engagement. There were many things about the hotel we weren't happy with but didn't want anything to dampen our spirits. My fiance ordered a superior suit which was fab, and he had ordered wine to be there waiting for us. This was not ready and he had to ask for it on arrival....

I have stayed one night at this nice hotel in the centre of bergen and booked a deluxe room via a booking page. Breakfast was included in the offer and it was about 130€/night. The receptionist was friendly, however a bit cold and just very quickly gave us the room keys without bringing us to the room. We got an...

I spent two nights in Bergen in a suit at this hotel. Together with my wife we had booked a junior suit, but when we arrived there they upgraded us to a suit. From outside the hotel doesn't look at all like anything fancy; however, once inside this impressions is changed be the design and the cozy and welcoming atmosphere....

Initially we disliked this hotel. Access is difficult if arriving by car as it is in a narrow one way street without any unloading area. We thought the male receptionist on duty when we arrived rude and unhelpful. However, we grew to like the hotel overall. We found other staff friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the rooms,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A stay at the Hanseatic Hotel is a very special experience. We have invested all our expertise and passion into creating this high quality hotel, situated at Bryggen in Bergen. With its location at the very heart of historic Bergen, the hotel is ideally placed, whether you are travelling on business or pleasure. The Hanseatic Hotel is not your 'standard' hotel. The hotel has been built on historic ground within the Finnegaarden Trading House at Bryggen, which is inscribed on Unesco's list of World Heritage Sites. We have retained the wharf style and architecture, and the old timber walls have been preserved in several places.Every room is uniqe! We can offer 37 characterful double rooms featuring exclusive furniture and unique bathrooms, creating an interior that is redolent of the time when Bryggen was a Hanseatic port. The Hanseatic Hotel will appeal to those looking for more than a standard A4 hotel, and who wish to spoil themselves in attractive and charming surroundings. As the city's most outstanding hotel and restaurant complex, we want our guests' stay to be memorable and can offer delicious culinary treats that will appeal to every taste. We have several restaurants serving exquisite traditional and international cuisine, a cosy lobby bar, in addition to excellent conference facilities and free WiFi.Our hotel and restaurants, as well as our conference facilities, with their unique character and central location, make for an out-of-the-ordinary experience. We can organise every type of privatefunction, from weddings to confirmations and Christmas buffets. A short distance from the hotel is the famous Fish Market (Fisketorget), where seafood connoisseurs mingle. Another popular tourist attraction is the Fløibanen Funicular. The airport bus and the railway station are just a short distance away.Welcome to a memorable hotel and culinary experience! ... more   less
