Perfect location right in the heart of the city -- the stairs for Fjellstua Viewpoint are literally across the street! Incredibly nice staff that really takes the time to explain how to get to the major attractions around the city and answer all your questions. Plus, super comfortable beds and A+ breakfast!

Yeah, the apartment was an apartment. And it was fairly cheap. If you're looking for cheap, group, hostel-ish accommodation in apartment form then look no further! If you're after holiday apartments, then... Look somewhere else. The beds are awful, the kitchen is basic, the lounge was scungy.

My husband and I stayed in a split level two-bedroom apartment affiliated with the hostel. I'll start with the pros - location was excellent, there was parking in front of the apartment, kitchen had all the essentials, and the living room was comfortable and spacious. Now the negatives - the apartment smelled stale, the beds were way too soft, only...

My boyfriend and I had a truly pleasant stay at this cosy and intimate hostel. The staff were very accommodating, the beds were warm and clean, and the breakfast was a great buffet of traditional Norwegian food.

My friends and I were pleasantly surprised by the spacious rooms and really comfy beds. The buffet breakfast was lovely. It certainly surpassed our expectations! Good location too as the road leading to the viewing point of the city is just opposite the hostel.

So as you may know Alesund is not cheap, however this place had affordable rooms and to be honest it was not to busy. Its located in a quite corner next to a great place to hike for the best views of the town. Lots of amazing coffee shops just down the street. I stayed here for a few days....

Cheap option to stay in Aalesund. It has large rooms, good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Staff is very helpful and nice. Amazing breakfast for a hostel. Only had this option in a hostel in London. I strongly recommend it! Very close to Aksla viewpoint (fjellstua).

Great pricing for yet another highly overpriced city lodging in Norway. Everything you need is at this hostel/hotel. Good location only a couple blocks from the bus and central. Very friendly, courteous, and helpful owner. Our room was reasonable size, the bath a bit on the small size but manageable. Very comfy bed and of course all very clean. Very...

Clean, nice, great location. Very cheap option to stay in Alesund if you travel on budget. They have dorms and rooms too. We stayed in the room for 2 with private bathroom. Great value. Very close to everything :)

everything is just decent in this youth hostel : they welcome you, keep your luggage the whole day if you're ahead of time disembarking of the 8 o'clock Hurtigruten ship from Bergen, offer you a large and complete room that needs to be a bit refreshed, breakfast if ok, you can cook your meal in a kitchen in the basement...
