A beautiful hotel with interesting history. 2 pools which cater more for young children. Fantastic entertainment day and night for all. Comfortable rooms and glorious beaches. What made it perfect for us, was the amazing staff. From Omari, who set out the beach loungers, Glynn, the chef (who helped me gain 6lbs in 2 weeks with his delicious food!) to Junior, the lovely security man and everybody in between! Definitely the best holiday we've had! We'll be back soon!

We agree with Jean B. This is definitely not a 4* hotel and its restaurant facilities are misrepresented on the hotel's own website, on Tui's website, and Imagine Cruising website (also agree with Jean B- avoid Imagine Cruising at all costs! ). On the positives: our room was spacious, if dated, (Heritage Room) with a decent sized patio, and was kept clean. Some of the staff were fine, but some downright rude and unhelpful, especially on Reception. That level of variation in customer service is not acceptable. The hotel has a very small, crowded beach (walk further south to better beaches with beds, umbrellas etc you are not fighting for) and little or nothing for children/young people to do. They would go out of their minds with boredom. If you are vegan, vegetarian or just like even half-decent food, avoid this hotel at all costs. We flew half way around the world to eat the worst food we have ever had in 35 years of travel. This hotel operates a secretive system that you will not be told about when you book,or when you check-in. The so-called 'three restaurants' described by operators are NEVER all open at the same time. They have one closed every night in rotation. The main option will be a terrible, terrible buffet (which you also bizzarely have to book-surely a buffet is come when you wish?), with another restaurant offering what is described as 'a la carte' but which you also have to book, and of course is always full, as those in the know will have managed to book ahead, though at reception when we complained, we were told you had to book at breakfast each morning. My husband set the alarm early to book us into that night's a la carte option, only to be told at 7.30 am it was already full. Hmm. One of these 'restaurants' is not a restaurant at all, but a small noodle bar with half a dozen stools ,and a couple of tables. We only got into it because another couple who had cracked the secret code gave us their spot. I have never heard a stir fry described as a la carte before, though it was delicious, as by this point we were desperate for ANY freshly cooked food at all. Evening buffet was bland, overcooked, unappetising slop, with tongs to serve yourself sitting in festering jugs of water for 2 hours. I refused to use them and used my own clean cutlery to serve my food. I cant believe this is good food hygiene practice. Breakfast-hard to know you are in the Caribbean. A few cubes of dry watermelon and pineapple. Not a banana in sight. The only consolation was freshly-made omelettes; BUT - on at least 2 mornings they "ran out" of chopped onion, or peppers or mushrooms - didnt seem able to go to the kitchen to get more! In the end, we gave up on the food and spent far too much on a lobster dinner at 'Lobster Alive' and practically wept with the relief when we discovered the wonderful cafe (opens 7.30am ) at the George Washington House over the road which does proper coffee and delicious breakfasts and other meals, with decent music. We overheard another guest giving feedback to the Hotel Manager about the food, (new chef apparently) and could see attempts were made to improve the presentation of the food, but the quality remained poor. When we complained about the food at reception, they said they'd " have a word with the chef" but didn't even ask for our name or room number so felt as if this wasn't really taken seriously. If you like hits of the 1980s, you will like the house music, otherwise you will wonder why you flew to Barbados to listen to 'The Lady in Red' instead of reggae. For the authentic experience, get one of the minibuses into town or to Oistins on Friday night-you flag them down like the dolmus system in Turkey. 3.50BJ flat fare. You will definitely get great music, polite and friendly locals, who make room for you ,& some still wearing masks, which really helped us feel less conspicuous. We did a car hire for 2 days, though no thanks to the hotel reception (who are it seems part of the same company as the care hire we used) who claimed "all cars were booked". We did it ourselves the next day, no hassle, same company. Drivers in Barbados are about the most courteous (to pedestrians and other drivers) we have come across. Roads are terrible though, so get a decent size engine and drive slowly around the potholes. You need a map-most places have no name signs - just a few home-made ones to key attractions. Liberal use of the horn is to be expected on Barbados but its not irritation or annoyance, just a way of saying "coming through". For our first holiday since Covid this hotel was a terrible disappointment. I know things have been tough for the hospitality industry but that does not excuse poor customer service, bizarre rules about how to get access the meals, and truly dreadful food.

Recently visited this beautiful resort and it was amazing. I've read some of the reviews before I visited but my experience there was nothing compare to those nasty comments, I wonder if we stayed at the same hotel. The staff are very professional and friendly u might find an odd person out that's not but it's every where in this world. From those in the front area , the ones who looked after any problem in the hotel the restaurant and kitchen staff they were all very helpful and kind. The food was lovely having a wide variety every night in the buffet and the a la carte restaurant food was amazing. I loved the sweet potato and Pina colada soup (Amazing ) but the chopstix restaurant that was top tier. A very small area but the food was amazing . Troy is the best. The service was quick and very professional. The servers Alicia and Sheena made our dining very relaxing and comfortable. I can't finish without mentioning their supervisor Nadia I can't forget that name that young lady is very professional and knowable. She spoke to us very politely and seated us. She went on to explained the menu to us in a way that we already knew what we wanted to order just by her explaining it. Savannah she's a star. When we finish dine we didn't want to leave. Thank to Savannah Beach Club for an amazing time. See you again very soon.

We booked this resort on the basis that we were advised our vegan diet would be accommodated but sadly this was not the case despite several discussions with the Chef. We were very disappointed and frustrated as we could have booked elsewhere at fraction the cost. If you have diet restrictions or allergies then don’t book this resort. The resort itself is beautiful designed with a lovely beach but it needs a little TLC as we noticed some cracks, peeling paint, the shower curtain and the grouting around the bath needs replacing. The customer service could be improved although there were lovely stuff members (Roger and Grantley were brilliant).

Worst hotel ever do not stay here. Travelled with Imagine Cruising (not to be recommended, avoid at all costs). Food awful and same virtually everyday. The untrained staff can't be bothered with guests. Afternoon tea absolute joke. My room should have had a plantation view it looked on to a bare wall. Asked for more tea bags and milk in the room, received one of each. Asked for some cheese to finish a meal in the evening and was told unavailable every evening except one. Only one lift working the whole week and it was over 90 steps to the ground floor from room. No ham for the whole week for a breakfast ham omelette. No replacement toiletries throughout the week.Filth behind the toilet could not have been cleaned for months. Water cooler on ground floor run out of water for two days. All inclusive does not mean you get water in your room after two bottles you have to pay for it. One evening there was an a la carte menu, food cold and inedible went to bed hungry. NEVER AGAIN DO NOT STAY HERE AND DO NOT USE IMAGINE CRUISING THEY ARE BOTH TERRIBLE.

Had a day pass to while away time between getting off our cruise and catching the plane home. Sprawling complex, pleasant staff, albeit not over efficient, and a buffet lunch.....not impressed with that. Half an hour slot in Hospitality room not long enough. £200 wasted.

We are a family of 4 adults & one 2 year old. We were on a cruise stopping at Barbados 17th December. I booked a day pass on 11th November with Khatija Sealy in reservations. I have a full email trail confirming the arrangements. The cost was $75.00 per head & included use of a day room as we had booked a meal at Tapas - a restaurant we had been to before later in the afternoon for my wife's birthday. Payment was on arrival. We were greeted by a lady whose customer service skills were sadly lacking. Whilst she confirmed our booking, the specific use of the Day Room was not included. This was because it had been overbooked. Apparently the room had been booked in October. If this was the case why were we provided with confirmation on our booking? Why was our booking accepted if the day room was already booked? Whilst accepting that mistakes can happen we asked for another room to be made available. The answer was no. Overbooked - tough. Take it or leave it. She took no responsibility for their error & made no attempt to rectify the situation. Bear in mind that we had a 2 year old with us. The attitude was nothing short of disgusting for which the hotel should be ashamed. Fortunately we know the area & walked to the Coconut Court who were more than happy to accommodate us. When we holiday in Barbados again, we shall steer clear of this hotel & recommend that all visitors think twice before booking. Having not experienced any of the services offered I cannot comment on any other aspects.

Dear 913gordonk, Thank you for your review. In our investigations into your comments, we found that there was some breakdown in communication. After reviewing the correspondence mentioned between Khatija and yourself ,it basically explained that the day pass would cost $75.00 USD per adult and the child would be free. This pass included lunch, house beverages, use of the pool, facilities and use of a hospitality room to shower prior to your departure. In your review you mentioned the use of a Day Room (the use of a room for the day),a day room would not be included in the day pass package, hence the misunderstanding. Guests on Day Passes can access the Hospitality Room to bathe and change, free of charge. Alternatively, if you want to use a room for the day, you will be required to pay an additional US$50.00 Our Front Desk Clerk would have confirmed your booking for a Day Pass but could not offer a Day Room. Thanks again for you review, we hope you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Barbados. Faye A Best

We spent a week at the hotel between Christmas and New Year. Had a fantastic time at the hotel. Check in process was absolutely fine. We had a welcome drink while we waited. Rooms were fantastic, much better than I expected. We were in the diamond block with views over central area and down to the beach. Probably one of the best rooms in the hotel. Clean, big king size bed. Rooms a little tired but absolutely fine and probably on a par for Barbados. Food was excellent. We ate in Drifters most nights. Lots of options we had two hungry teenage boys so a buffet was perfect. We ate in Rachel’s one night. The food was a bit better presented but servings smaller. Would suit couples better. Entertainment each night was really fun and not too in your face Wide selection of drinks available. Cocktails all prepared to order. Better than I expected The best part of hotel was the beach area with Drifters next to it. You can easily relax and spend all day here Service was fine. OK some of the staff are a bit grumpy but that’s part of the charm and is better than the over the top, overly effusive service you get in the States for example. The hotel is best suited to families or older crowd rather than young couples with no kids Spa was closed when we visited. Boys used the gym most days which was pretty quiet and had plenty of equipment

We have enjoyed a lovely family holiday staying at the Savannah Beach Club Hotel. The hotel is in a fabulous location on the beach, never struggled to get a sunlounger and the trees provided lovely natural shade. We enjoyed being able to easily walk to Carlisle Bay from the hotel as well. We were all inclusive and really enjoyed the choice of food for every meal - it was cooked well and was tasty! There are different restaurants in the hotel which are open on rotation and the staff let you know at breakfast so you can book a table. All of the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to make sure you enjoy your holiday. We enjoyed a free excursion (courtesy of the hotel) for a picnic lunch at Bathsheba Beach which was great! In summary would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a relaxing family holiday. The negative reviews on here don't reflect our experience of the hotel and we would definitely return.
