We stayed at Gyves at the end of 7 day's walking along the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne. We had stayed in several B&Bs en route and therefore feel that we can make a valid judgement. Gyves House is all but on the seafront. When we arrived we were given a warm welcome from the owner. Our room...

We booked two rooms which were beyond our expectations. The full english breakfast was equally good & set us up for the day.Gyves House is also in a perfect location to explore Eastbourne.Andrew is also a font of knowledge of where to eat, drink & visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gyves House. The room was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fabulous, all home made or locally sourced where possible. Andrew made us feel really welcome. Would definitely recommend.

Teachers can be fussy, but at Gyves House we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We were booked into carefully decorated, well- equipped rooms. The beds were great, we slept like babies. Both the rooms and the bathrooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. The breakfast buffet offered a wide range of cereals and jams plus a freshly cooked "Full English" that...

Gyves was booked for our hiking party of 3 and turned out to be a special little jewel. Facilities are clean and nicely appointed, Wifi greatly appreciated, and breakfasts are excellent--nice variety. Owners particularly helpful in providing guidance on places and things to do, dining recommendations, etc. The South Downs Way starts/ends on the West end of town and Gyves...

We went to spend the weekend at Eastbourne to do the seven sisters walks, After the long day walking on the hills the only thing you need is to rest in the comfy room provided by Gyves House, The host are really friendly and they care about any aspect on the property, having a beautiful house where you can find...

Andrew (The owner of the b&b) was a hero! After a warm welcome, he was really helpful in every aspect! Gave tips about the neighborhood, where to go, where to eat& drink, how to go back to the airport in a convenient way etc. As a solo traveler, I enjoyed staying at their facility. The location was great, so close...

Eastbourne was the finale of our South Downs Walk and this was a lovely end to our trip. Comfy beds and spotlessly clean rooms and,as reported many times, a truly great breakfast. The hosts were very pleasant and recommended a Thai restaurant at the end of the road which was excellent. Eastbourne we will be back (but maybe we will...

We returned to Gyves House and Eastbourne recently with friends. This time, the weather was glorious and the welcome we received from Angela and Andrew at the Gyves House was equally as lovely. Andrew helped us to plan our hike through the nearby South Downes/Seven Sisters park, while Angela provided us with a customized and quite delicious breakfast on both...
