Like many of you, we read a number of mixed reviews before booking this hotel. If you can accept that in areas the wallpaper is slightly coming away from the walls in a building built in 1901, you will be fine! If you need 5 star luxury all of the time, don't stay here. If you like good food, hot...

A large hotel which is a bit tired, but has a retro feel to it. Situated at the end of promenade next to the Great Orme cliff. Ideal for walking or taking the cable car for great views. Also for the promenade and town centre. I was given a single room although my booking confirmed a double. So that was...

Stayed in the grand for 1 night but as people have said it does need a revamp ... The outside is badly needed a lick of paint at least ..the rooms are old looking with little portable TV ..old furniture ...and no drinking water in rooms ....all the floors creak when you walk on them ...the breakfast was edible but...

As others have said, the interior of the hotel is somewhat ageing now but don't be put off by that; the staff and high level of service make up for it in bundles. The hotel is ideally suited both to the beach, prom and town centre and is a striking landmark. The lady on reception helped our daughter with an...

Stayed here over Easter weekend this year (2015) with family to celebrate my Nan's 90th Birthday! We all had a lovely weekend apart from a couple of things to do with the hotel. Firstly the rooms, are in desperate need of modernising, and the plumbing needs updating as you cannot drink the water in the bathroom!!! There are signs in...

We stayed here in August 2014 there was a large group of us all disabled, We were left to struggle getting our cases to the room. It was loud and noisy from other residents shouting down the stairs ,lift shafts and using mobile phones on the landing on reporting this no one cared really, The beds were really hard and...

Stayed here last Friday (17/04) and can only say that it was 'OK' to stay even though the beds are uncomfortable! The hotel is located right on the beach, next to the pier which is pleasing and as other people have mentioned it most certainly could do with updating both inside and out! The staff are polite enough and the...

As we walked in the paint was falling off the wall. This is seriously outdated. The snooker room isn't big enough to play a proper game so that's a waste of time and space. Avoid or take caution getting robbed at the bar for premium sub standard drinks. Becky the inexperienced barmaid (who doesn't even wear a mask) gave us...

We love this hotel! It's in a beautiful building from a bygone age and you're sure to have Shining-style flashbacks in the corridors, but it represents all that was great about a bygone age when people had more time and money! There's a big cafeteria-style breakfast and free entertainment every evening. We paid £10 a night more for a sea...
